Jester
OK guys, I have some SU's that I need help IDing. I took them off an old Volvo engine that was in my neighbors barn. Here are some pics. I just won an auction on ebay for a 1600 roadster intake. Should be here in a week or so. Thoughts?? Jester Quote Link to comment

Jester
the volvo su's are different How are they differant? Jester Quote Link to comment
kiznook
I think hey're made in a different factory, and the mounting flange is different? that Roadster manifold is going to be a fancy shaped, expensive, aluminum paper weight. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Hmmmmm. Guess I'll have time to clean it up while I find a good set. Jester Quote Link to comment
phatdave
The 1600 roadster manifold won't work!!! Quote Link to comment
Jester
OK. I understand that the manifolds are differant. Any idea were to find info on what size these babies are? Maybe a couple kits for them? Jester Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
The carbs? Most likely they are 38's. Kit's are available (got mine from AutoSport in Seattle). Not much to them really. Just about the simplest fuel system I've seen. Quote Link to comment
Jester
I have checked a couple differant sites trying to find a list of part numbers that I can I.D. mine to. Know of any that may help? Jester Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Here ya go dood ! http://www.sportsimports.ca/archive/technicaltips/att06.htm Hope it helps...! There is a guy here selling a set of SU's w/ manifold [ i think] for cheap. Sorry cant remember his name. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Thanks for the link and the info. I did find that site but it doesn't explain how to ID my carbs. I'm not trying to be difficult, I just want to make sure I get the right parts ordered the first time. Both tags on the carb tops are unreadable. Jester Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Im semi forgetfull but i seem to remember somebody saying that if you measure the center hole on the carb. that it will tell you what they are. 38 mm comes to mind, not sure of the other sizes if any. Maybe try the search feature. Quote Link to comment
Jester
Thanks. I'll try that., Jester Quote Link to comment
Jester
I found a BRAND NEW Holley 32/36 for $65.00. It's suppose to be Holley's version of the Weber. I tried doing a search here, but, didn't find a hole lot of info. What do you guys think? I would of coarse be putting it on an L16 intake manifold......If I could find one cheap. Hint, Hint, Hint:D Jester Quote Link to comment

Jester
Picked up a split bench/bucket seat today from a Bronco II. Nasty ass WY find. YUCK! Used Resolve carpet cleaner on them. They actually cleaned up rather well. I had to fab up some new brackets, but, they fit very nicely. Will get some picutres posted as soon as I get them totally done. Hopefully tomorrow. Jester
What would be a good price? I really have no idea. Jester Quote Link to comment
kiznook
well, whatever you have into them is a good place to start Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
1.5" = 38.1mm They are 38's :) They are also british SU's, the Datto's use a Japanese copy. I have a set off an MG Quote Link to comment
Jester
I would really like to wait till I get my intake. I want to see how far off they are. Should be here anytime. Let me look into it a little more. I'll see if I can find a set on flee-bay to get an idea. Jester Quote Link to comment
Jester
What a day. Got my new clutch master cylinder on today. Took a while, but, got it. Went to dump some fuel into it and it ran down on my shoes. PISS ME OFF!! Found out the filler tube was rotted RIGHT OFF. No shit, the whole bottom edge was GONE!! Finally got that done and put some gas in. Was nice to be driving a Datsun down the road again. Jester Quote Link to comment
