DottiBlue
So got some work done and some of the parts I ordered have started trickling in. Thank you uncle sam. I got the interior cleaned up and painted with por-15. And I did some of the trunk. Can't do all of it yet cause I need to do some more welding back there yet. Now I need to order all the floor plugs! My T3 camer plates came Also got my intake, but i had to cut that all to hell to get it to fit, now it's with my buddy to have the iacc tube welded back on. Pics of that later. Guess thats what I get for buying the wrong intake tube, but it was only $40 shipped. Excuse any typing errors i sent this from my phone Quote Link to comment
Rustina 510
Go to rockauto.com for your balljoints and tie rods. moog balljoints Are cheaper at rock auto than at the moog website Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
All ordered just waiting for the delivery. Hopefully by today. Just need to order the struts. Quote Link to comment

DottiBlue
So, mounted the fuel pump, gas tank, and FPR today and got them plumbed. Also put my 280zx struts somewhat together. I had to call T3 because the Koni struts I used have a different thread pitch, 1.5, than pretty much every other strut manufacture, 1.25. He was very helpful and put the parts I need in the mail today. Great customer service. Here's the part that didn't work Clearanced the strut tower mount for the camber plates Got my intake pipe finished up and the IAC hose hooked up Tried to pull the lower control arm assembly of the stock drivers side strut off. Even after PB blaster, heat and an impact, only electric, no luck. Left it soaking. Hopefully better luck later. That's it for now. 1 Quote Link to comment
510T
What's up with Dottie? I know you have made progress, must see pics! She driving yet? Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
It's getting closer. I am really bad at doing updates and taking pictures as I go. I got the engine in and running and the front suspension installed. I have rear lowering springs that I installed and I am currently working on putting my rear flares on. Before the rear lowering springs Front dropped but rear still up in the air. Wifey checking out her seat!! Rear springs on marked to cut Cut off Working on the other side Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Got a bit more done today. Cut the inner fender and bent it unto meet up with the body. Welded up both sides, then started grinding the welds down. Need to add sheet metal to fill all the pie cuts. Passenger side Drivers side With the flares sitting on the welds Don't think I'm gonna make it to the cruise this weekend. Still have to much todo and not enough time 12 hour night shifts until Sunday morning. Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Did a little work today for the first time in a long time. I got my new gauges in, sorta. Still gotta wire them and put them back into the car, you know the easy stuff. Well actually to get the gauges in, it was kind of a pain. The first fight was these stupid knobs. Here's the completed cluster. 1 Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Got the gauges wired up, but the fuel gauge dosen't seem to be working. May be a wiring issue, I tried to tap into the back of the circuit board where the old gauge screwed on. I read something about there is a voltage regulater somewhere inline. I think I'll try bypassing it and going straight to the sender to see if that fixes the issue. Anyways I forgot to take pictures of that. The gauges arn't in place anyways. I put the front lights and grill on after painting behind the Grul with a gloss black paint. Gave my girl a face again! The left rear is on a stand for some welding. I also put the tail lights and rear markers on as well. That's it for today!! Quote Link to comment
510T
Looking sweet! Are you going to use full glass fenders in front or rivet on flares? Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
The front fenders are glassed on to steel. I still need to clean up the glass work. I bought them from someone who did a bad repair job for cheap. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Looking good! She's getting close! Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Thanks man. Four years in the making. I'm hoping to get her in for exhaust this week Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Got some work done today on the rear wheel wells. They are all welded up and have been sprayed with underbody coating. I bolted the flares on. Still along way to get them looking good. Need to enlarge the hole in the rear cross member so I can try to take it in for exhaust this week. How have you all done this? i was thinking of strapping a piece of metal on and using a hole saw. Here some pics of the flares. Quote Link to comment
Josh K.
Nice! Hole saw is your best bet. Weld a piece of flat bar across the hole. Slow and lots of lube....... use a pneumatic drill if possible to avoid snapping your wrists when the saw binds.... Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
That what i was thinking. Hasn't thought about the pneumatic drill though. Unfortunately I don't have one. I'll just have to adjust the clutch on my drill. Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
So finally got around to removing my rear cross member and drilling it out for bigger exhaust. I put a 3.5" pass through in a welded it up. Forgot my phone and didn't take pictures. Will get one up of the finished product later. One step closer to exhaust and driving. Makes me happy cause I've been dreading doing this. 1 Quote Link to comment

DottiBlue
So, I'm lame and its taken me a week to get this picture of the "hole" As a consolation, here are some more pictures of my installed gauges. Off. On. Also a question I have for you engine wiring guys. Do I need to keep all these wires for anything? Car runs as is? 1 Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Got the car put together. Took it for a drive Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
Mass air sensor plug came unplugged, that was an easy fix. Car still idles to high though, around 1400 RPM. and it was doing a weird up down rev on start up when it was warm. Any ideas guys?? Couldn't find a vacuum leak. I removed all the smog stuff accept the iac and air regulator. Also I don't have the air intake temp sensor. Quote Link to comment
DottiBlue
So I took Dotti in got exhaust this week. Sounds nice!! Also drive her the couple miles home from the shop. It's amazing how much driving these things makes you want it so much more!!!!!!!! Didn't have any real issues getting back to the house other than the left rear brake smoking by the time I pulled into the drive way. So I got a short list to get it on the road for good now. - Byron's brackets cause there is way to much negative camber on the rear tires for me - Deal with the rear brakes, maybe just switch out to disks - Figure out why my brake lights aren't working, probably the wiring I haven't hooked up under the hood - Finish the wiring under the hood - Time the engine again - Take her in for alignment - Put the rest of the interior in - Drive it till I break something!!
