Hermistonkilla
Purchased some .96 cent spray paint at wal Mart and at the least got the truck to match a little. I figure after some dirt, scratches, and dents it will blend in better. Used the floor mat to keep the overspray off the vintage plates!!! Quote Link to comment

Hermistonkilla
hey redeye, do you know which shocks i would get to replace mine? do i have to use ones from a wagoneer? Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
Best bet is to compress the suspension and measure between the mounts, then uload the suspension and measure again. This will give you you compressed and extended shock lengths. Most shock mfgs have a listing of their shock dimensions. Just a matter of picking the correct one. :) To compress the suspension you can ratchet strap the frame to the axle and jack the truck up by the frame to unload it. Quote Link to comment
Hermistonkilla
Drove up to Spokane for two days and saw some sweet 240z's....... Anyone want to trade one for a truck????? Lol. Quote Link to comment
Hermistonkilla
Found an early model l series manifold. Swapped out my circle ported manifold for a square ported fitting one!! And found a friend along the way! Tomorrow ill be bolting in a roll bar to the bed. I'm not really a fan of it, but the wife likes it and so does everyone else that sees it...... We'll see Quote Link to comment
Hermistonkilla
Did a few little things the last week - practiced welding some more. Is it enough to call it flexin? First attempt at wheelin at "the pit" Quote Link to comment

Poky8390
are you mig or stick welding? Quote Link to comment
izzo
are you mig or stick welding? Take a gander at the start of the weld. Still a chunk of wire hanging. Imma throw out a guess here, but ill say wire feed. Unless he started wire then finished stick... Run a wire wheel across your metal before you start. Mig doesn't like rust/paint/other shit. Clean metal works best. Welding a gap isn't all that fun, either  But you can run beads over the top of each other to build up and close in the gap if needed. Quote Link to comment
Hermistonkilla
Wire feed for the win!! My uncle was a welder in the navy (never knew) and when I told him I started learning he started saying things like porosity which had me going "huh"! Lol I feel like I've gotten a lot better lately and clean metal makes a happy welder for sure!! Quote Link to comment
Poky8390
rust just sucks to weld on at all.. ;/ id say let it puddle a little longer to idk if its the angle of the pic just looks like it was a cold washed.. and i like mig cause its faster but i enjoy stick welding just cause its always fun.. i find it amusing getting the rod stuck trying to start it.. =) but i like your truck.. thinking of doing a 4x4 at some point in the future.
