crashed my 510 last night :/

Haha. I did fix my handling issue. A knuckle head thing.. my strut to lca bolts were slightly loose allowing toe change on the passenger wheel. The car felt great up intil my little mishap. I'm writing this from my phone and can't post the links to pics so look up gtdan on photobucket or I will get on the comp tomorrow and post links

so what happened was that I was going through this left hand turn and it happened so fast I don't know if my car just understeered or bumped with the road and the weight came off the back and made the car swing wide. the car was heading at like a 45 degree angle for the wall on the passenger side then i managed to get it pretty much straight and just bashed my rims, shot off the wall like in a video game and was instantly on the other side of the road romping the mountain side. the noise from the crash was a lot worse than what happened. i just remember i was like ooo noooo my bluebird grill!!! in my head while it was all happening haha

How the hood line up?

how about your pass side floor fire wall area? is there a buckle anywere.

 

youll maybe to get get a new steering bar or a whole front end and new A arms and maybe adjustable ones with a cilover kit with camber plates so you can have enought ajustability to make it drive straight w/o wraring tires.

 

I went throw this. Jeff and frank replaced my whole front half of my car. otherwise it would have been junked.

Even after the fix the pass side had apositive camber. I couldnt get it out so I got the coil overs to get them -1 deg camber per the alighnment shop.

 

I also got T3 tension rods but you got them already I think.

It's a given something was hit. Describing the hit is a waste of time. What is the damage? Where is the damage? Does it drive, if so what does it do now?

 

 

Pictures don't show much at all. How about a shot of the wheels from 30' directly in front and one of each front wheel from 10' from the side? This would go a long way to showing front or rear and side displacement of the wheel.

Wheel moving back could require straightening the unibody.

Or it might not require that. Mine had the wheel back 2" and only needed one replacment part, the tension rod I hink. It was repaired in 1982 so don't ask me for more details :-)

 

Bottom line you gotta inspect the damage before you know what ya got.

My 510 is my toy. I built it so I can drive it like an idiot. I think its soooo gay and a waste of time, space and money to garage your 510 all the time, drive that shit, its a fucking car pussies!!! Oh and well details on the damage there really is none other than when one wheel is straight the other is toed out, like the front of the tire is at least an inch to and inch and a half over. I'll take some more pics when its not raining out.

I drive my car. Many people drive their 510s. But people dont drive them like an idiot. Idiots crash. These cars dont have a supply of parts from a part house, only from cars that have shared similar fates. If you want a car to drive like an idiot go get a 240sx. Have more respect for the car. These 510s are only getting rarer. Please help keep them alive by not being an idiot.

 

*note, I did not ask you to stop driving it.
