Snug but'll work. Did you grease the idler arm first??? :P I put the lower rad hose inlet to the timing cover from a 280z on mine. It lifts the hose and points more to the rear and gave a bit more room. Also used a block alternator mount from a 720. It lifts the alternator up or down (I forget) the side of the block 1/2" or so because they use the larger IR alt.

 

 

720 and 620 (forget which, but it gave more room to 'tuck 'the alt.

oh right on. yeah i didnt grease it should have, but oh well next time. the bracket on this motor was steel i was going to replace it with the one that is on my l20 but it was cast and i wouldn't have been able to use bigger bolts to fit the new alt

The top one looks like the one i had on my 80 720 with L20, the bottom one looks like the one on the goon i had. The one i have for a Z24 block, i cant remember what it looks like, but it was different then those two i thought? IIRC it raised it up.

I did this at least 10 years ago, I forget. The bolts are the same thread but thicker/bigger holes.
