Hood dampers

Hey does anyone know where to get the polished hood dampers for the 510.

Well, dampers are what the Brits call shock absorbers, so I assume he means those little hydraulic cylinders like they use on hatchbacks on on cars made by GM. Since it's a custom thing, you need to know the length you want.

 

JC Whitney? They seem to have a lot of that bling stuff, some useful, some for looks. For more quality, Summit or the such.

Order some dampers sized by you, have them chromed? BTW they are listed as struts there.

hood dampers, struts all the same thing. Yeah i think i just have to measure and order them to what i want. I was just seeing if anyone has ran this set up and knew what to go with so it would take the guess work out of it.

They're 'gas struts' and as Doug said, used to help lift and support hatchbacks, hoods and such.

 

Can't tell you what to do but this may take some of the 'guess work' out of it for you.

Yes, that's a strut. It doesn't do any damping.
