Stupid_fast
Or you can just replace the timing chain/sprocket yourself? You can get a timing set on rockauto for $50. :D Quote Link to comment
Pineapplegti
Man up bud.. If changing a timing chain is beyond your mechanical abilities maybe a nice new kia should be in your driveway and not a 40 year old Japanese economy car :D 3 Quote Link to comment

ggzilla
Before you start, buy a Datsun 510 repair manual and buy or borrow a torque wrench. And use the video. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
Figure out what exactly is wrong... Doesnt seem you know exactly. Quote Link to comment
Chingon 510
well i took it to a datsun shop and thats wat they said it was Quote Link to comment
]2eDeYe
they also told you it would be $500 to fix it. :P Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I would take it to a regular old mechanic. Its just an engine, no fancy electronics on it. Anyone who knows engines should know how to work on it. This means take it to someone who isnt gonna try to mark up the price because it is a datsun, but is simply honest. Quote Link to comment
