AuosGnaf
Don't know if this has been asked before, but here it is.... How to remove a stock KA shifter? I found a S13 shifter and was wondering if it would fit a S14 tranny? Not only that how do I remove it so I can install it (if it fits) into mine? There's no screws or anything holding it in place beside the plate. Unless that's it, but I'm not sure. Keep in mind I don't want to go the short shifter route. I just need the shifter. Any help will do. Thanks in advance. S. PS. If you can break it down for me that would be great. Quote Link to comment

Pacific coast Datsun
You guys are killing me with the "cut it out" comments jeez! Theres a "C" clip / snap ring that needs to be removed then it'll slide right out. When i removed mine i bought a cheapo needle nose plier then ground down the ends so they fit into the clip, squeeze the pliers together & lift out. Im running a 240sx shifter in my HB & it is a few inches shorter. Quote Link to comment
78kingcab
just take the six bolts out, it does'nt get easyer than that... Quote Link to comment
AZhitman
^ This. No need to mess with a snap ring. S13 and S14 transmissions are identical. Quote Link to comment
