Wow...... that looks dangerous.............. how do the frame rails look?

Anyone have a good idea for how he should fix that strut tower?

Hopefully that's the good side.

:o

More importantly..... who in thier right mind would paint a car that color?! :P

Would imagine it was painted years ago to somewhat 'mask' and or treat the up and coming rust issues....obviously a good dollop of 'Rust Coat' was in order. :P

the fraim rails are not the best either guys.. but just at the back end. also, i think im guna have to get new strut towers. as for the cancer by my exhaust, im guna cut it out square, and put two cannons there to take up that spot, and if it looks too tacky, i will find a patch pannel, but i kinda like my idea better! and the paint? i dont mind it actually, just wish they would have done it right the first time and not use gallons of bondo and just cover the rust areas.. and i posted a picture of the other strut tower, and its way cleaner than the other

no updates, just new clutch, and a good cleaning and i stripped and primed the hood also. going to cut out the rustu spare tire thing in the trunk and weld in a flat piece of steel, then im guna re do the exh again. this time im running a daul exh. system off an srt-4.

I hope you know what you're doing. That is a lot of rust. There is a point when a car just becomes parts. This might be one of those times.

my thoughts exactly.. but i figure that would be one less datsun on the road, but then again how many can this one keep on the road also from its good parts? i would make this my parts car, but this is the only dime i know about around here. so i figure i will do the motor and drive train and suspension, and by the time im done with that and everything, maybe i will already have a way better datsun, and i can switch it all over to the good car, and then i wasnt really at a loss. plannin on a ka swap this winter.

ok so heres an option.. how about i save the ka swap for a while.. and this winter i handle the rust issues. im thinking a tube frame front end like this..... cut the strut towers are my main concern, i think i can manage the floor pans. but this would save this car from the crusher, and make it stronger also anyone done this to a dime yet?

Wow, I go over the same pros and cons when i get another 510. Road trips are fun and if you have time to weld you have time to drive. Make a fun trip to the west coast during a Datsun event and pick up a cleaner car. Save Grimmous for parts. This car could be a good learning curve, but might take some enthusiasm away from the next better project. Good luck with whatever you decide

yes i think i did pay too much, but its ok, its a good learning exp. the floor pans wont be to bad to fix. i think the hardest thing will be the frame rails, and the strut towers. how much can i get a semi-clean one for? with out motor or trans or anything? like completely gutted to where i could just swap everything from mine, to that one? any one know of one for sale?
