jonesy510
well its about the time for me to start gettin serious about what color i wanna paint my goon. I have the stance I want, rims an just about everything else so now its time for paint  :D :D :D. now i know this is ratsun and a lot of people just say buy some rustoleum and go at it but if im gunna build my first car i wanna do at least the paint right . i have had many colors run through my head like: aztec red the wrx blue the bayside blue hypnotic teal and last this antlantis blue now the past couple days i havent been able to get that antlantis blue out of my head i mean just look at it!!! anyways i was wondering what do you guys think?? are there any other sexy paint jobs/colors i should b looking into? if so post pics..... but no yellow or orange sorry i dont think i want my goon those colors ;) and i also wanna try and stay away from pearls because im most likely going to spray it myself or have a buddy of mine spray it and i heard its extremely easy to mess up pearls and heavy flaked paint. INDY510
Atlantis blue kinda looks like this color: G35 Caribbean blue: Quote Link to comment
hessianben
the bayside blue looks a little more classic... it seems like older cars don't look as good with more modern paint schemes (electric blues, flake reds ect...) ... just my preference. I like some of the older 'cream' paint tones on datsuns... http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://bringatrailer.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/04/1969_Datsun_510_Blueird_Deluxe_Rear_1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://bringatrailer.com/2007/04/26/black-plate-modified-1969-datsun-510-2-door/&usg=__4SsXutSWrjO2ZMRbUIXDqAuBwbE=&h=359&w=479&sz=95&hl=en&start=104&sig2=oWeUCNEvmL07SJBFlZW3mA&itbs=1&tbnid=B1UahBJXpVar0M:&tbnh=97&tbnw=129&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddatsun%2Bwagon%26start%3D84%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3D16C%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26ndsp%3D21%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=CDkyTNKyOIu7nAf4_N2ABQ http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/sevenStock2009-122_datsun510_nissanBluebird_Wagon_rotary.jpg&imgrefurl=http://japanesenostalgiccar.com/blog/2009/10/01/events-sevenstock-xii-part-two/sevenstock2009-122_datsun510_nissanbluebird_wagon_rotary/&usg=__Ftjj_Nx78bj7CTrkeZ9CFnBlW7s=&h=640&w=960&sz=210&hl=en&start=116&sig2=uKpwLyiu3cU1cbRT-Q-Hpw&itbs=1&tbnid=GGdUDuxIaBLJMM:&tbnh=99&tbnw=148&prev=/images%3Fq%3Ddatsun%2Bwagon%26start%3D105%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DESs%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26ndsp%3D21%26tbs%3Disch:1&ei=LTkyTPm8CJeynAeehtmHBQ Quote Link to comment

Duncan
I had a 1200 Coupe I was planning to do in 1969 Camaro LeMans Blue. Probably my favorite blue shade on any car.. Quote Link to comment
WagDatto
No offense, but blue 510's are over-done, in my opinion at least. I'm not a huge fan of the metallic colors on these cars either. 510's look awesome in the bright older colors, I think. Quote Link to comment
Laecaon
I agree blue is everywhere. this is from the TV show trucks. Quote Link to comment

Pacerace
1966 Chevrolet Aztec Bronze might look good on a 510. It changes color in different lighting, and I personally like metallic bronze colors, and have seen a 510 in a similar color and liked it. Quote Link to comment
lardlungs
i think that frozen grey would look hot Quote Link to comment

jonesy510
haha yea bmw has some amazing colors :) Quote Link to comment
datrod
Mustard color IMO Thats a nice color. That truck color is tangelo orange pearl. Way over done in the hot rod scene. And very pricy to buy. And hard to shoot. Stick with non metalic paint way easier to paint. Quote Link to comment
datsun723
Wow, I'm not a fan of grey colors but that frozen grey...I'm thinkin' that'd look wicked on a Z ;) Quote Link to comment

ohpyramids
you seem to have a bunch of variables going right now. your initial offerings were almost all blue. its your car so if you want blue go for it. in the end, you need to pick a color that matches your personality. white= purity and perfection red = strength and vitality maroon = likable and generous (aole) pink = delicate and fragile orange = luxury and flamboyance yellow = happiness and imagination green= harmony and balance blue= conservative and sensitive purple = temperamental and artistic brown = patience and dependable gray= caution and compromise black= dignified and impressive once you pick a color, think about the finish. the frozen gray was satin/matte. it will be a bit harder to keep clean, but if painted right, a unique and eyecatching choice. tons of ratsuners do the rattlecan flat black (myself included) and it looks like shit. but shit is my aesthetic. hope this helps dude. The Dat-side
What type and color of wheels do you have or do you want? I'm thinking of colors based on what I want for wheels. Quote Link to comment
jonesy510
thanks ohpyramids! i originally planned to paint my wagon blue and try to keep it a nissan color but then i started looking more at colorsrealized how many different awesome colors there are to choose from haha. the main reason the first post had so many blues was those were the only colors i could think of at the time. i have thought about a couple maroon/reddish colors as well as some greens... mayb i should just buy more datsun so i can paint one every color i want  . some of the colors i have looked at i think are really awesome but not entirely sure how good the would look on a wagon like the antlantis blue. Dat-side i have the sportmaxx xxr513's just the standard chrome.. if i do get painted rims i would go with gun metal or black. i have no plans on changing my rims to colored rims... maybe after i finish EVERYTHING will i start playing around with different rims but mine are fine just how they are Quote Link to comment
VintageRice
Since people were posting gold colors. How about Aztec Gold from Volvo. It's really pops in the sun. I know, cause I have a s60 in that color. Quote Link to comment
