Give me your intake manifold and mudguards.

Now.

lol

The "fuel delivery bits" look to be all the parts of the fuel rail, and the hose with a bolt in it looks like someone made a super awesome plug for the fuel line (either the feed or the return, depending on whether or not that hose leads to the fuel filter).

Mini Update GO!

Sorry no pics with this one, but there really wasn't anything to take pictures of. I connected the battery from my truck to the car to see what worked, and here's what I've got so far.

The good:

-Windshield Wipers

-brake lights

-fan

-horn (loud as hell too :D)

-emergency brake idiot light. (Always on, regardless of brake position...)

-Volt meter gauge

The Bad:

EVERYTHING ELSE!

haha.

I sort of expected most of the electrical stuff to be nonfunctional, however because so much is unplugged under the hood. So, I was happy that anything worked.

UPDATE!!!

Well, not really an update, because I haven't done anything new, but I've got some new pictures and a question!

DSCF0116.jpg

DSCF0115.jpg

My question is about surface rust. These are pictures from under the cowl above the hood, and as you can see there is a layer of surface rust over all the metal, and when I rubbed it with a paper towel it got redish brown spots on the towel from where I was applying pressure with my fingers. A couple days ago I pulled off one of the fenders, and the surface under the fenders looks exactly the same.

I've been looking at POR 15, would this be a good use of POR 15? I was thinking of pulling off both the fenders and just covering everything in it basically. Does anybody have any advice for me?

Thanks,

-Kevin

  • 2 months later...

It's a sad day in Datto land. I have been working all summer and just didn't have time to get this project together, and with winter coming my 720 needs to be in the garage. (it doesnt like to start after a cold night.)

And so, it kills me to do this, but I've got to get rid of the Z. :( anyway, if you're in the spokane area, it's on craiglist for $500, but for my friends here on Ratsun, $400 will make this car yours. It's really a great start to a project. I just didnt have the time or money to get it together this summer.

Somebody help me find a good home for this machine so it doesnt have to rot in the snow this winter...

-Kevin
