Does anyone have any good info or contact info about the junk yards in Mexico, just maybe I can locate a 68 510 dash there, does anyone know if the Mexico Datsuns were the same as the USA models??

if so, I want ones that have good rep and if you got a link, please post it up.

FYI: the Canadian 68 510 dashes are a little differant.

That's not really horrific. It sure is way different

from a 69 despite having the same general look.

I'll bet you could straighten it out some by taking

it apart and reassembling more carefully. The lower

edge pads look like they need to be uscrewed from

the shell and re-glued to the metal backing plate.

The screws may be accessed from the back or bottom.

If you don't know already, the speedo/guage pod

should have two wingnuts holding it in from the

back at the bottom - easy to find by feel, impossible

to see. Here's a link to back view of my 69 pod:

The other two screws holding it are phillips heads

that go upwards into the overhang above the speedo

face.

If that black thing on the glovebox door is a stick-on

of some sort, WD40 and patient rubbing/scraping/

peeling would eventually get it off.

I plan on taking out the whole dash/wiring harness out in January and start working on it. Hoping when I get it out to get it in a warm room to see if I can get that BIG gap closed up and maybe make a mold of the main dash pad section. Time will tell after I see whats involved.

As for the lower padding, I think thats going to be a piece of cake to fix, remove, clean and fab up some new mounting points to reattach to the the dash housing.

The black spot on the glove box lid is where a AAA sticker was, I'll try the WD40, that might take off the sticky glue. Just noticed I'll have to get that Fasten seat belt sticker off also.

Thanks for the pics Chris, they will help since the 69 and 68 look similar. :)
