Datsunny
Well i decided to post a little bit about my corolla since i prolly have it forever i figured i could use this as a build log and a project journal so here goes. When i got the car it it was a broke down Sr5 which if anyone cares here are the specs as they came from the factory SR5 specifications Chassis Code: AE86 Horsepower: 87 hp (64 kW) @ 4800 rpm* Torque: 85 ft·lbf (115 N·m) @ 2800 rpm* Weight: approximately 2200 lb (998 kg) to 2400 lb (1089 kg) Engine: 4AC, 1587 cc Engine Type: SOHC 8-valve Inline-4 Carburated M/T Transmission: T50, 6-bolt flywheel A/T Transmission: A42DL, 4-speed overdrive w/lockup torque converter, mechanically controlled, with electronically engaged overdrive Compression: 9.0:1 Differential: 6.38" Open with 4.10:1 Ratio, 2-pinion (Automatic) (S292) or 3.91:1 Ratio, 4-pinion (5-speed) (S314) Wheels/Tires: 13x5" +33 mm Offset Rims with 185/70-13 Tires and here are some pics of it when it came home ill have to get some :( anyways paid 1200 bucks for it (this was 4 years ago now) and was happy as hell. Anyway i got it home and started to fix it. First look under the hood and i see this mess ill tell you what nothing will put your dick in the dirt faster than trying to fix a fucked up 4ac motor with 1 000 000 vacuum lines and no idea where to start. so thats when i decided it was time for a GT-S swap and here is a list of what that entails Full motor/ wiring harness Full front Chassis harness Tranny swap (has a little better gearing and stronger internals) Driveline Swap Rear end Swap ( Upgrades you to a Lsd Capable pumpkin and rear disks ) Adding a electric fuel pump Full swap of rear wiring harness Full swap of under dash harness and gauge cluster and here are stock GT-S specs GT-S specifications Chassis Code: AE86 (AE88 in USDM) Horsepower: 112 hp (84 kW) @ 6600 rpm* Torque: 97 ft·lbf (132 N·m) @ 4800 rpm* Weight: approximately 2200 lb (998 kg) to 2400 lb (1089 kg) Engine: 4AGE, 1587 cc Engine Type: DOHC 16-valve Inline-4 AFM Multiport Fuel Injection w/T-VIS Transmission: T50, 8-bolt flywheel Injector Size: approx. 180 cc, low impedance Compression: 9.4:1 Differential: 6.7" Open (T282) or optional LSD (USA Only) (T283) with 4.30:1 Ratio, 2-pinion Wheels/Tires: 14x5.5" +27 mm Offset Rims with 185/60-14 82H Tires (195/60-14 85H for 86+ models) anyway so i started the long and very tiering search for all the parts needed and hear comes the gap in this project and i eventually trade the car off and then i trade back for it lol at this point i have owned the car two times and probable towed it more miles than i have driven it lol. Then to top it off after i get it home it sits in the storage unit for another half year and i see the break i was looking for in the form of all the parts i needed in one location. here are the pics a lovely complete GT-S :) all in one place for a great price thanks again brian so now having all of the parts i needed it was a location to do the swap in that was giving me trouble................... well my very rich uncle decided to let me use the garage in his 2nd house to do my swap so here is where it all happened Thats me thinking Oh what the Fuck have i gotten myself into both together before the teardown have the head and all other parts off the SR5 motor getting ready to take the block out with the block and tranny out getting ready to swap ! now to start the teardown one of the harnesses ECU actually pulling the motor out and now for the tricky part i got that under dash harness good my new rims ! starting to look like a running car again and after 4 days of hard work we were all done ! i know i am missing a few pics but i will post them in a bit drove to drews house to hang out some random activities lol and some vids i love doing brodies its an addiction lol ill post some pics of how the car looks now tomorrow i think thats enough for today :) Quote Link to comment

ESmorz
Rad. About two years ago I picked up an '85 coupe. It was an SR5 but had been completely swapped to GTS down to the gas tank. Got it for $1,150. Drove the crap out of it for awhile till I blew the motor. Parted it out and made a profit. Win. Quote Link to comment
Skib
nice  I did some work on an AE86 coup a while ago with a black top 20v in it, fun car. Quote Link to comment
metalmonkey47
Wicked! I've been in the market for an AE86 for a while now, but not luck :( Quote Link to comment
Madness
Initial D (said in a deep voice) I've always wanted an AE86 but every kid in colorado wants a fortune for them. A few friends of mine found one in boulder owned by a guy in his 70's. They bugged him just about every day to sell it until it was shoved into his driveway by a tow truck with the entire pass side missing. That car was freakin perfect. Quote Link to comment
TOOQIKK
panda ftw! gotta get the tofu shop signage on the side of it too! INITIAL D FTW!!:P cool project!! we had a coupe in high school it was a blast to thrash it!! Quote Link to comment

LAYEDOUTB2K
Nice corolla. You should've swapped in some Nissan power into it though. My brother has had one with a built CA18 in it and it fit like a glove. Quote Link to comment
Drive510
I've always loved those mid 80's rolla's. Not long ago, there was a guy in Yakima, WA selling 3 of them for 3k. Can't the 85 and older RHD's be legally registered and imported to the US from Japan for being more than 25 years old??? Anybody know?? Quote Link to comment
