B210 Transmissions

Recommended Posts

I have the two '78 B210's.I have a 4 speed,& a 5 speed,

both out of the cars & on the ground.Which one should I put back

in?I have a brand new driveshaft for the 4 speed.

What's a 5 speed worth?Is it interchangable with the 210

5 speed?What's the differance?

Confused.

You have two '78 B-210 with their 4 and 5 speeds out on the ground?

You want to know which one to put back in another car??? A 210???

They are all A series bell housing and as long as they are all the same length put in whichever one you want.

I think the later 210 5 speed came in dogleg and regular pattern and were FS5W60 L or A. The B-210 used the heavier duty FS5W63A 5speed same as the 200sx but with the A series bolt pattern. As I said, if the B-210 trannys are the same length as the 210 tranny it should fit.

ggzilla knows this stuff better.

When my 5 speed took a dump I put in the 4 speed. Fit the same even the drive shaft. Eventually I'll rebuild the 5 speed. It is worth a lot more just because of the MG and Austin Sprite guys using them. There's a kit for them that's been on the market a while.

Rivergate is what that kit is, and i would seriously think about selling that 5 speed to an mg/austin healey guy for good money. My brother has a t5 tranny with the adapter for his mbg (he paid more for that than i did for my whole Datsun roadster) Those british loving car guy's must have deep pockets to enjoy their habit.

The Rivergate adaptation uses the 210 5 speed, not the B210.

The B210 4,& 5 speed driveshafts are differant (the 5 speed one-

is about 1/4" larger diameter.

I've decided to go with the 5 speed.That means I'll have 1-2

extra 4 speed transmissions to sell (+ the parts cars). What to do,

what to do?

There is almost zero market for B210 four-speeds. If you find someone that needs one $50 seems about right. But you probably won't find a buyer.

Agreed 100% ggzilla , +1 :) , unless you cruise certain keyword on the internet then shipping gets involved  , eeeeekkkkkk best a local sale ;)
