patd
Hi everyone, I just purchased a 71 521 off of ebay on Saturday and having it shipped to me here in southern Cal. Its going to be my daily driver, My mom bought one of these new back in 72 and it was the first car that I learned to drive. I always wanted to have one so I finally decided to find one and get it in good shape to drive daily. I can't wait for it to show up. I have already purchased parts to redo the entire brake system, clutch and ignition. Just as soon as I can figure out how to post pictures I will put some on here of my new truck [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] [/img] Edited December 10, 2009 by datzenmike Quote Link to comment

That's how I bought mine. shipping sucks, but it was the only way I was going to get one. Good luck and keep us posted! The shipping was not to bad, I was going to drive to S.F. to get it but renting a truck and trailer, gas money, eating and the long drive I decided it would be easier just to ship it. These pictures are the ones the seller emailed me. He stated to me that the truck starts but does not move. He thinks that it is the brakes or clutch, I am going to replace both with new parts and see what happens.:) Quote Link to comment

TrevDaddy
I was also watching this on ebay. How much was the final winning bid? I love the rig, straight, great color, nice interior, just needs some engine maintenance. I would grab a new upper rad hose, plugs & wires, cap and rotor, carb rebuild, and powerwash that bay. A couple filters wouldn't hurt either. After all that it'll look really nice and run a lot better too. Good luck with the truck man! Quote Link to comment
Pacific coast Datsun
Welcome to Ratsun...521's are just plain kool. All the help you need is right here on this site. Thanks for the compliments, That's what caught my eye about the truck, Its in stock condition mostly, I am going to replace the rear bumper with the stock bumperetts when I can find some. I got it for $2125.0 plus I had to pay Ca. sales tax: $190. DMV doc's $50.. Registration $200. plus to ship it to me was $350. It's last registration was in 94, So I think it has been sitting since then. Before I even start it I am going to change the oil and filter, Flush the radiator and change the thermostat, put new plugs/wires and points and cap . I already purchased everything to do the swap and I also bought four new brake drums, shoes all four brake cyclinders, clutch cover, plate and cylinder.(there goes my savings acct):) I can not wait until it is delivered to start on it. pharouh
"He stated to me that the truck starts but does not move." That could be something as simple as a leaky clutch slave cylinder. I had one do that. It wasn't bled good enough. Simple fix (I hope) hope you get it soon.:D Quote Link to comment
