onefine, fivedime
made a bracket so the ECU will sit up off the floor (evenly) gona use rubber isolater for shock resistance and to mount it use weld studs. seems simple enough =) i like it... (dammit i need a real camera..) Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
UPDATE! 3/17/12 up and running! =D (for a while now actually) but i gotta show you how i got there =) so... where i left off... got it to my dads shop and finished the command center idea welded some square tubing to the firewall, with hardware facing out so the hinge can bolt to the door since im mounting all fuses and relays on the door but didnt wana see screws my dad came up with this. door mounted! =D worked great and as planned! ended up welding some nuts on the lip of the front panel to fasten the door with allen head bolts. love it! (have to post pic later i guess i didnt take one) =( new stuff to put in! $90 ebay header, clutch line, shortened driveshaft! had to cut the end on the driveshaft off since it hits the floor, but the feet warmer installed! =D decided to stick with hardline for the clutch, for the sake of eventual cleanliness .. hey i only messed up one stick! haha the driveshaft slipped right in of course! but the shop that did it said the input shaft (not sure if thats what its actually called) on the 240sx driveshaft is the same as the 510... so he just shortened it and it works great! then got this beauty Quote Link to comment

jun
Hey Nick, I've been wanting to do this to my 510 for a while but just can't seem to find all the info I need. Parts, hole location, etc. I'm sure you had these struts sitting around or found them on your last trip to the JY, but what car are they from? And are your hole locations working out? A friend of mine randomly tried doing this and it didn't work out at all, and how he got swiss cheese hood hinges  1 Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
Hey Nick, I've been wanting to do this to my 510 for a while but just can't seem to find all the info I need. Parts, hole location, etc. I'm sure you had these struts sitting around or found them on your last trip to the JY, but what car are they from? And are your hole locations working out? A friend of mine randomly tried doing this and it didn't work out at all, and how he got swiss cheese hood hinges  haha damn that sucks though! sorry man havent been on much, you probably have gotten it figured out already but i actually bought these from mcmaster-carr. i still have the receipt and can give you part numbers if your still interested, and as far as mounting. stilltwisted made me templates! lol they work great too Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
bought an injen intake for a 240 then had a buddy of mine help me out with making it look good! =D viola! originally wanted it to go to the pass side but was told that the MAF wouldnt get a steady reading and f up everything.. or something like that lol!. but it looks good and i love it plus, i didnt have to move the wiring for the MAF... ill take it =) hks filter was in order.. went to a local race shop and he had an old hks coupler to sell me.. meant to be! haha fits perfect, looks amazing making my screen functional but before the intake this was a video of it being ALIVE!!! =D s45.photobucket.com/albums/f64/akordracer/?action=view¤t=2011-12-04_14-27-44_923.mp4 Quote Link to comment

onefine, fivedime
well at this point the beast is running! and man, after two LONG years of not being behind the wheel it felt great! and the power difference amazing! went with 2 1/4 " piping to a magnaflow (i got for free) for exhaust and it sounds good! pretty damn loud though, im sure my nieghbors hate me by now went ahead and did the whole check this, torque that deal. everything worked great as planned! went with slim ballasts had to have a stereo immediately, music is a major factor in my life, wanted something simple to eliminate a mess of wires, and too keep the dash factory. had heard about doing it this way a lil after my car was down, so made it happen. 400 watt 4 channel amp mounted under the pass seat with an aux cable out . done.. TIME... simple, clean, and since ipods have a built in EQ and mine has fm radio.. effective! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! looking sick as ever! . at one of my favorite spots! (GMR) had an artistic moment =) started hitting all the meets to get exposure and hitting the track to see what all this work could do! .. definitely caught some attention! =) hey it happens right? =) but theres always that EPIC shot! THIS CAR IS AN ABSOLUTE BLAST TO DRIFT. .. its hard, it doesnt listen, i spin out like no other, i NEED a front swaybar.. but the main problem being me... i have yet to develop technique. one thing for sure is i have a blast trying to figure it all out! =) and will continue to do so! and ive been told it backfires to all hell since i DRIVE IT LIKE I STOLE IT. go hard or go home thats my motto. one issue that occured whilst going hard, i realized that the rabbit radiator couldnt keep up. im pretty sure the issue is that there isnt enough coolant circulating in the system to stay cool. esp. since i got rid of my heater core. sidenote: started buying more shit to satisfy the aesthetics section of my brain.. too many ideas for all the smallest details =) purple harnesses from peak racing fatlace purple dice valve stem caps and some cheap door locks from autozone some bad ass stickers via jun! (thanks jun!) upgraded my shifter! (9kracing, bad ass shifters, bomb ass prices!) the short one is 6" tall X) got my 15x7s polished and worked my magic sitting next to the 14s, look monstrous! and amazing on 195/50s hot damn!! (with nrg purple extended lugnuts) courtesy of xtina! (thanks for all the AWESOME pictures you take!) fontana nissan had their cinco de mayo meet and had put me right in the front! =D Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
addressed the over heating problem, checked out my options, and decided to go with a first gen rx7 radiator, but after market aluminum cause.. well why not right?? found this one on ebay, contacted the seller and found out they were out of city of industry. went straight to them and got it for $140 =) 3 row, aluminum, mount brackets blank and oversized.. i should have done this in the first place! putting it in was easy, (esp. compared to all the crap i did to get the rabbit one in) still looked great! got rid of my remote fill and went a different route on hoses (i wasnt a fan of the remote fill anyway) and while i was in there, decided to spice up the bay a bit and get the shop out there! Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
gotten it dynoed at OSR in fontana since i was super curious to what it was putting out. 125 whp and 139 lbs. ft torque!! BAD ASS!! =D having a bit of fun in my backyard =) (pretty sure the nieghbors were like WTF?!?) ..HAHA! will post video as soon as i figure out how to =) one event at the track got a little to excited and came in to the main sweeper HOT .. BAM!! dead into the tires! was too surprised it was bound to happen... but when i got out of the car to asses the damage, HOLY SHIT! looked like i got hit by a frieght train!.. and looked worse the next morning lol ..it wasnt that bad, just the 2nd time ive ever crashed.. so i must have not been doing it right before ^_^ haha, dent popped out by hand (thankfully) and all the marks with scotch brite and comet =) (partly why ill never paint it) kept that back section as a momento =).. sidenote: 14s vs. 30s lol and next to a japanese lambo, on bags (via LIBERTY WALK) =) i feel the plates are backwards.. haha Quote Link to comment
Tomakze
Lookin' dope! I wanna see a video of it on the track!!! That thing is inspirational. 1 Quote Link to comment

onefine, fivedime
lil shit =) its purple by the way.. met a dude that loves rims and told me he might of had a set for sale, saw a pic, fell in love! =) (yes i have all four) RONAL 15X7 +10. love the raw aluminum , gives it that battle mode look! hit em with scotchbrite and got used tires. only rocking two in the front right now since i wanted to be on 15"s all the way around. ( didnt wana cough up the $$ for two more and love the lip on the mesh) looks good! hardly ever see 5 spokes on 510s (at least from what i recall) my goal is to tuck 15 x 7s nicely and still use the car for EVERYTHING. problem is the door jamb on the 4 doors is what rubs the tire.. exhibit A# exhibit B# finally addressed the issue =) that area was the main section for the contact, but of course more needed to be cut. cut slits in some areas and hammered flat, cut a chunk of where the quarter panel and the door jamb meet so it all could sit up higher. the one thing that sucked is this wheel arch had been hit before... which was discovered while prepping the area. the smooth pointey outside edge was all bondo.. O_O.. enough to make a cobra body i might add.. =(. so to make it ok on the eyes had to remove it all from the arch =/.. i hate primer spots.. cut higher, cut longer.. bend the metal up and tack in place, add a new piece where old was cut out. moving the edge into the door jamb giving the tire clearance.. hammer new metal to bow into door jamb . weld up and made it look pretty! haha i dont have the skills to come up with all that.. that was all my dad (GO*EZ) but bess believe ill be more involved on the other side =) Quote Link to comment
onefine, fivedime
have yet to drive with others in the car, but was rubbing with just me and isnt anymore! =) Quote Link to comment
