  1. So we got the motor in, flywheel, clutch, pressure plate all cleaned off(with brake cleaner) and mounted/torqued to specified settings. Slid the transmission(with great effort) into the motor and secured it with bolts. Went to mount the transmission to the crossmember I got from duke and realised it's the same one that the stock transmission used. Doh. Either way it won't fit. If I have it all put together, the shifter side of the transmission sticks WAY into the cockpit and the transmission crossmember is still a goot half inch from touching the car. I dont know what to do with it. And for pictures. Here's our sophisticated mechanism to hold the transmission up while we mounted it to the engine Transmission mount And with the transmission basically inside the passenger compartment of the car, transmission mount on, and crossmember bolted to that, there's still half inch or so between the crossmember and the body of the car. Ugh.
  2. I haven't seen one posted as of yet, but I think I speak for everyone when I say we need a before and after drive-by video :D
  3. Pay more attention IMO. I have no pity for people who get nabbed for not paying attention to driving.
  4. If Nissans count. I got my first one around 19 or so. 18 maybe. Got my first Datsun at 21.
  5. Made by Mercedes-Benz! The Smart Roadsters are quite badass. Especially the Brabus tuned ones :D
  6. Has anyone though of making a clear plastic/something hood? Wonder how it'd work out.
  7. That goes on before the flywheel, huh? Shit. Guess I'll put some thread locker on them anyway when I take that puppy off! :D Thanks for noticing! I completely forgot ><
  8. Those part numbers don't work on nissanparts.cc :( Edit: The first one doesn't.
  9. I've got a clutch alignment tool, yeah. Thanks for the info on mating the trans to the motor. It'll help a lot :) I just hope it's not too hard to do with the motor already mounted. I have some grease that according to my haynes manual needs to be packed into the inside of my throwout bearing sleeve. I haven't torqued the flywheel bolts down yet, as I need to find my torque wrench. Is thread locker necessary?
  10. The shifter on the dogleg is all wobbly so I decided to try to find a bushing. I couldn't, so instead I decided to improvise. Got some vacuum caps, shaved one down a bit, and cut the end off. Looks like it'll work just fine :)
  11. Got the motor dropped in! Need to clean up my exhaust manifold and clean up my radiator then drop them and the transmission in. It's all coming along well
  12. c'est la vie, mate. Pick up that wrench.
  13. Looks awesome! I say you chop the roof at least 1/3 and drop it a bit more! I love it :D:D
  14. Today's my 23rd :D Happy 18th! It's a fun age to be!
  15. Well there's your problem! You tied the motor down. You need to let it roam free next time and it won't get moody and smash windows.
  16. Put the transmission in 1st, then spin the front shaft. if the back spins the opposite direction, it's a dogleg :D
  17. The Pontiac and Saturn brand names and badges are kaput as of the end of this year. GM is no longer going to use them.
  18. ;) Possibly. People say houses are an amazing investment, but I'm not so convinced on that.
  19. They're an Aussie car! Not even American Muscle :(
  20. +1 I'm only 23, but I've never had any credit card debt. I pay for everything in cash. If I dont have cash for it, I don't buy it. Dave Ramsey has some good ideas having to do with finances.
  21. Looking through some old photos of me as a kid(My sister has started scrapbooking), I came across this. Check the background :P
  22. Would you want to sell it? :D
  23. Does anyone have the dimensions or designs for a transmission cross-member for a dogleg 5-speed in a 510 sedan? I'm having one made(hopefully) but need dimensions/measurements. I've had some people tell me there arent any mods needed and I can use my stock cross-member, and others saying you need something custom made.
