  1. Do you know how the size of the Z-cars' radiators compare to the 610 radiator? It seems like the Z and ZX radiators can be had for a lot less.
  2. I haven't tried - they are pretty easy to remove if you want to try out something new. I'm curious to see if you find something that works well. I put some front seats from a Porsche 924 into my 710, and they are way more comfortable than the stock seats.
  3. This thread does two things I really like: 1. Rescues a Datsun that looks like it would have been parted out or scrapped by a less ambitious owner. 2. Has a lot of how-to detail that people can put to good use. Good work!
  4. Pick-n-Pull - Redding [More Information]19919 Viking Way Redding, CA 96003 US 530-221-6184 Store Layout Map | Part Pricing Make Model Year Row Date On Yard Datsun 510 70 0069 07/12/2013 ...510 in a yard, so act quickly.
  5. Yup! It made it all the way from Sacramento to New York to San Francisco. Here's a picture from its first Datsun ride on the west coast:
  6. I'm glad they saved it! It was on Cardomain waaaaay back - it looked like someone bought it with a dead motor and then tried swapping in a rotary powerplant. Last I saw it, it was on Florida craigslist looking really sorry and filthy and in abandoned project hell, for a couple hundred bucks. I would've bet that it was going to wind up getting scrapped.

    My new '77 Hatch

Wha? The pumpkin is in North Carolina?
  8. Yeah - I see that your original rear-view mirror was made out of the kind of disintegrating plastic as mine too!
  9. I have the same mirror in my 710 - it's a perfect fit. They molded the Altima cover piece in a few different colors, so you might not even need to paint one.

I spotted this 710 on kijiji in Saskatchewan. It looks pretty nice at first glance, but rust repair has led to some odd patches on the lower body. Any guesses as to the source of those front front arches?
  11. Someone back east want a $400 200SX? that's only $2 per SX. http://tuscaloosa.craigslist.org/cto/3831715739.html
  12. http://modesto.craigslist.org/cto/3879400946.html Datsun 710 flexible on price - $1200 (modesto) his number wasn't in the ad for the 710, but it was on his other ad for some carbs for sale: 2094378132 ...if anyone gets this and wants to get rid of some of the parts, let me know - I have no space for multiple Datsuns at the moment!
  13. ...I'm no longer on the east coast, but I wanted to pass this one along. I'm not sure if this is the same orange '74 710 hardtop that was for sale a while back as an abandoned rotary swap - could be. If it is, it's looking a lot better now. http://fortmyers.craigslist.org/lee/cto/3894071730.html
  14. I stopped by today - blue/blue interior. It looks later than '75 since it has the newer style grille. timing cover/dizzy gone, steering wheel and door panels removed - some of the stuff is in the bed under the camper shell. Still has some usable stuff though, I think! I forgot to check for intermittent wipers - those would be nice on the 710. D'oh!
  15. Where do you get the adapter to attach a 280ZX master cylinder to a 610 booster? I might need to put a 280ZX master cylinder in my 710, since I just put in the 280ZX struts/brakes.
  16. Ah, so perhaps this is why my car has been running a bit hot since I swapped in the L20B !
  17. The red color in the plastic taillights was actually bleached out by the sun! Red is tricky to make as a durable color - that's why if you see a poster that has been hanging in a sunny shop window for a long time, the colors look very blue - all of the red has been bleached away, leaving the more durable blue ink mostly intact.
  18. That was a fun ride - I'm glad that the 710 didn't fall off a cliff into the Pacific, or plow into a redwood!
  19. I rotated it so you don't need to turn your computer 90 degrees. Nice color!

    610s unite!!!!!!

Yeah - the two pins don't look like regular Datsun emblem pins, but the double-stick does look old. So maybe just the "NO" part of "NOS." The quality looks okay & they're chrome plated, so even if they're not Genuine I thought it would be a not-too-expensive way to give a 610 a nice new name.

Heck, they have the self adhesive stuff on the back so they can fit aaaannnything. Slap 'em on a F10, shift into reverse, and do some doughnuts.

Are these really for the 610? If they are, it is a pretty good deal: http://www.ebay.com/itm/-DATSUN-BLUE-BIRDU-1974-610-SSS-BADGE-EMBLEM-NOS-/221246425001

  24. Indy recommended some places where I could pick up some coilovers, and I went over to Troy Ermish's shop today to pick up a pair & Troy welded the rings on to my struts for free. That saves me from trying to find a muffler shop or someone with a MIG welder to do the job! His shop is only 15 minutes from where I'm staying. Datsun parts that I don't need to send away for in the mail? Woah.
  25. Okay, cool - I thought that switching sides was for extra clearance for the steering linkage, but it is for clearance for 13" wheels?
