  3. ok now i see the pics in the other thread. i would maybe not have used the general section. stuff gets buried lightning fast.
  4. i wouldn't mind A few parts. check your message box.
  5. thats some crazy shit to see the grass growing through the engine bays. makes me wonder what skyscrapers would look like if humans were wiped off the map. a giant 50 story blackberry bush. i see a 520 in there. these are the yards where you have to watch out for bee's nests in and around he cars. see any snakes?
  6. c'mon pete you can be more of a smart ass than that.:D
  7. saweet. pics of the 312 please. nice plate you made there. was it a franz oil filter set up that was leaky? not many 312 around i wonder how many were made.
  8. i figured as much. i wonder if my cool little numbers will disappear after resurfacing.
  9. i seen a collar the other day that was plastic!!
  10. got them cleaned up somewhat. what do these stamped numbers mean? piston #1 has a 2 and pistons 2,3,4 have a 3? all have corresponding numbers on the top of the block. now for my ignorant questions. i want to have the block and head resurfaced. do i need to take the pistons out of the block and the valves out of the head? i'm pretty sure the valves need to be removed for this i just hate doing it, especially without removing the cam towers. i've read your never supposed to remove the cam towers cause they are line bored from the factory, but i did on my l20b.
  11. dude your on a datsun site. you should list your datsun in your profile.
  12. good going, my answer is always use a bigger hammer. a regular hammer sometimes just doesn't cut it. 3 or 4 pounder is what everybody should have especially if you want to get off a ball joint or drums. and if you dont have a big hammer use a axe if you have one. on rear drums hit the center and they jump right off.
  13. my craigslist ad message me if interested. http://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/pts/894586412.html
  14. it has a slight bend in it look closely. you might want it to cut it up and make a hub adapter out of it for your after market steering wheel. first come first serve so the first to message me with interest gets it. you know how this works. oh yeah the price is $12 shipping will depend on your location. more pics of it http://s272.photobucket.com/albums/jj172/dat521gatherer/ratsun/
  15. dqami good call i forgot about that one. i would like the 320 package tray if it's there.
  16. ended for $6500 when people say datsuns aren't worth shit and not a good investment they aint joking. i still cant believe that 220 that no one bought for $1500. funny it seems like the shittier the truck the more it goes for.
  17. hey bro on those 521's if you see the rare locking glove box knob or locking fuel doors i'm game. i used to give people this long ass list and it would piss them off. but since you asked i will want a few things if available. if you need pics of what originals look like let me know. most all of this stuff is small and easy to ship. most of these will already be gone or broken. 521 locking fuel door (rare) glove box lock (rare) shift knob rubber heater boot on top of heater (only want if it's uncracked) hood squirter nozzle (impossible to remove sometimes) fuse box lid (usually missing) white heater valve knob on heater (usually missing or broke) red hazard/light switch knob (rare) dome light (uncracked only, usually chipped at the switch) tailgate chains (originals are getting hard to find) left rear bumperette bracket cig lighter (usually missing) mud flaps originals dont say datsun(usually found in poor condition) owners manual check for uncracked tailights (dont pull) check for jack with tools (dont pull) check for uncracked windshields (dont pull) check for bumperettes (dont pull) check for valve covers that say datsun 1600 (dont pull) 320 interior chrome door handles sun visors (if nice and cleanable) 620 mud flaps that say datsun check for tach's and clocks (dont pull) tach's bring in $100 average on ebay
  18. one thing that really bothers me about car auctions on ebay is that most sellers hide the questions asked and what his answers are. thats my favorite part to read the questions about the car and what the sellers answers are. when they dont show the questions it makes me think hes hiding something. and they are not always questions sometimes they are comments about how nice the rig is or some nifty info thats good to know.
  19. if your talking about that silver one it had been heavily modded with a frame off resto. this one might have been repainted. unrestored always brings in a higher dollar. or is supposed to anyway. that silver one went for like 9-10 g's. the messed up part is at the end of the auction the price goes down. what the hell is that about.
  20. no power needed its all in the gearing. but yeah funny joke. this is the first 521 i've seen with a camper that big.
  21. heres what i do. run one hose from the water neck on the side of the timing cover to the intake manifold. thus bypassing the thermostat t connection, meaning no ugly metal tube. about half didn't have the thermostat t anyway, i think those are the older l16's. now you can plug the thermostat hole or if your really cool like me you buy the corrector adapter and run your aftermarket tripple mini gauge with water temp to that hole thus having the original water temp and a after market one.
