I agree with this. I added up the receipts for the 89 and had $9300 in maintenance over 11 years. the 95 white had about $3000 over 8 years but had more computer glich engine light auto tranny bullshit problems than you could shake a stick at. had to have the codes reset every couple months. vw's are very high maintenance cars!!!!!! I'm making them get datsuns. :D

I'm looking for some 521 battery cables I dont know if the 510 battery cables were the same but I would be interested in knowing if they are. The cables in the pic are original. The negitive has a yellow strip and a piggy back wire that grounds on the alternator. The positive is just all black with a piggy back wire that goes to the fuse box. Please dont tell me to go and buy new cables at the auto store. I have considered it but for some stupid reason the little piggy back wires are always too short and I dont want any butt connectors on my wires. I just replaced the negative terminal and dont like a unsealed terminal. If you have any nice 521 hub caps like these let me know.

yes my daughter was driving and she was going to take her drive test next weekend as she passed the written yesterday. they didnt see it coming when they were just sitting at the light. the guy was doing around 40 and he did have insurance. all is ok except the 95 jetta. ironically we sold my wifes 89 jetta late last night and today the 95 is totaled.

wow what a day. My daughter just passed her test yesterday and my wife and kids were on the way to the store when they got rear ended. the guy didnt even try to stop. he was doing about 40mph. my kids were took to the hospital and checked out fine. Crystal age 16 has a bit of whiplash pain. all in all it could have been a lot worse. Happy Eater everyone and drive safe.

also clean the wire/terminal at the water sending unit and remove the door in the bed and clean off the wires to the fuel sending unit. you can ground the water temp wire and the fuel wire and see if the gauges work. if not its the gauges or gauge volt regulator. both my gauges would drop and i could stick my hand under the dash while driving and tap the gauge volt reg and the gauges would work for a short while.

THIS IS WHAT I DID WITH MINE. DRILLED/TAPPED A HOLE IN MY BLOCK OFF PLATE AND SCREWED IN A PCV VALVE. STUCK 2 HOSES TOGETHER.

when doing king pins the fulcrum stay in. do not remove them. just dissemble the spindle from the dog bone by taking apart the king pin assembly. the dog bone does not need to be removed and machined being as there is no fitted bushing that goes in it.

Some examples of things redat has sold or tries to sell that ain't right is-- 521 gas pedal pad. 521's never came with gas pedal pads. 521 front hood rubber bumpers. The 2 rears are the triangle and the 2 front are square. the triangle style don't go on the front. But thats how he sells them. And whoever is selling those damn cheap $10 521 shift boots are wrong too. The bottom fits fine but the top for the shifter shaft has the hole wayyyy too wide. I bought one and gave it away to kyle123??? which was still way better than what he had on his. Actually I see A but load of misrepresented datsun stuff on there. Some is ignorance some is scam. Oh yeah btw the 521 window crank repops aren't that great. The hood emblems are a great repo and price.

Anything can be nos. what you want is oem. I bought the window channel runs and they are not correct being as they have the rubber backing that some people seem to be fine with but they sure as hell dont work for me. Felt only is what I need. I'm going to try some for a jag.

ALSO CONSIDER TRADING FOR A MATCHING KEYED SET OF LOCKING GLOVE BOX AND FUEL DOOR. YOUR TRUCK DESERVES THOSE ANYWAY.

IF YOU ARE WILLING TO GET RID OF IT CONSIDERING TRADING IT UP FOR A NON CRACKED DASH. DONT SETTLE FOR A 520 METAL DASH IF TRADING. METAL 520 DASHES ARE PLENTIFUL THE 521 PADDED NOT CRACKED IS RARE. SORRY FOR THE CAPS.

seriously I wouldn't take less than $300 in working condition. AT LEAST!!.. as stated the paint code is 546
