The 320 came stock with a 1200 engine and no one ever called it zippy. The A12 engine make 15% more power than the 320 engine, but its still not zippy even when in a lighter vehicle. Go with the A15. That has the toque to pull the heavier 320 and the HP to push the 320 to 70+ mph easily. Maybe most of those people didn't have their foot close enough to the floor. My buddie Von has a 1300 520 ( that others have complained are underpowered) and even loaded down with shit,, i bet you $50. bucks he will scare you by driving way to fast in it. Zippy may not be the right word but if you ever rode with that die in the wool Datsun freak,, that drives like a demon straight from hell every where he goes,, zippy is what you'll be thinking. :lol: He owned Teds old blue NL (before Ted) and when he had that thing running, we flew into Oly and were peeling out everywhere we went.

The roadsters have never stopped but this year (from what i hear) they are inviting the owners of 73(?) and older Datsuns to join them again. Probably to encourage younger crowd to help with feeding ,, diaper changes and what -not when they stop. cuz their old

Even with the 1200 i think it would be a zippy little truck.. If you broke the bank and bought a 5speed i think it would probably be just right for bopping around town and getting on freeway.

Ford pinto 2000 engine is way easier to find parts for than the engine that came in that thing,, but it is no where near worth what they are asking. Parts for roadsters will rape you bank account yo. If it was non running and had original 2000 running gear it might be almost worth that price if engine was not rusted up..

I should E-mail them asking for pictures of every single rust spot on car and to explain, in great detail,, exactly what / if anything could possibly ever go wrong with car. . As apparently anyone looking for a vintage 2002 needs to know these things. I hear you ,, we replaced a perfect running Hitachi and my sons frustration level with getting those to not run rich and still have any power and what-not was at def-con 1 because it is his daily driver,, but eventually he has them getting better mileage and power than at first. If it isn't your main transpo i say get a can or two of carb cleaner and go for it. (edit) Having said that ,,, I bet my son knows exactly where the carb and manifold he took off is, in my garage right this second, and that is saying something with that vortex of lost things.

Crack , The link those guys gave you to Z therapy are $650. for basically brand new carbs,, they call them rebuilt but they replace and in the case of the throttle shafts, improve them. My son ( FAT510 in post up there^^ ) bought a pair of working SUs that are on his car right now for $120. bucks or something like that without air cleaners. I didn't know anything about SUs but no matter how much research i/we did putting them on and fiddling with them, was way more informative than any info i have saved into my favorites.. You can dis-assemble almost every thing you will need to,, even with them on engine.

We refinished the floor in the cone room at the Boeing plant in Kent ,,, it is a huge ass room ( maybe 5 stories high ) completely filled with 2 1/2 foot pyramid shaped blue cones, walls, ceiling everywhere, i think for radar testing ...... The guys that walked us in and out had a box with a rotating red light so all the doors would get closed as we walked by them that was a trip.

Actually i know the guy who invented the PCV valve system personally and he said if fumes are coming out of your timing chain cover,,,, where it's routed would be the least of your problems.
