  1. The brakes don't stay locked up. I can immediately start driving normally after the stop. It's more like if you stomp on the brakes of a vehicle without abs. Only I'm not stomping on the brakes. Anything more then easing into a stop locks up the rears and it goes into a skid. The master cylinder level is right below max and it hasn't dropped at all.
  2. Just found out there might be an NLSV on this truck. I followed the lines all the way from the front to the rear and I didn't see it. I also can't find a replacement for it. I'm going to put in the order for the parts I mentioned. I'll install and adjust everything, then ill report back to let you guys know if that fixed the problem.
  3. well I missed that, its a good thing I asked hahaha. I am full of dumb questions as you guys have probably already realized 😆.
  4. Nothing else you guys can think of then? Just making sure before I put in the order. Thanks
  5. I was just thinking this yesterday. I just got my 720 running and it's the first time I drive it since I bought it as well. It has got to be the roughest ride I've ever experienced. Suspension is stiff as hell and you feel even the slightest crack on the road. I thought it could be the fact that the torsion bars are cranked all the way up. But from what you're saying it doesn't matter either way. I have regular road truck tires Michelin LTX MS2 108t tires at the moment. And the truck came with some god awful electric seats. They are ugly as hell but are almost as cushioned as a lazy boy recliner. They look like they came out of a 90s van or RV. I imagine the ride is worse with the oem seats.
  6. I just started test driving the truck. I've taken it out maybe 3 times. It was parked for about 5-6 years. I cleaned all brake components with brake cleaner so it's clean as a whistle. Neither shoes nor cylinders were wet when i removed the drums. Im going to double check and adjust the parking brake cables see if that helps. I didn't even think about having to replace parking brake cables yet, I have the 4 door/crewcab 720 and I'm guessing they're longer than the king cab cables? I'm going to have to do some research about that. thanks
  7. While driving at 10 mph, if I press the brakes with even slightly more than regular pressure. My rear brakes lock up. I've bled the brakes and adjusted the rear shoes. I don't seem to be losing any brake fluid but not 100% sure I don't have a leak. I'm about to order drums, shoes/hardware, front brake hoses, and wheel cylinders. Wondering if there's anything else that might be causing the problem?
  8. This stuff says the "API Rating is GL-4". But it also says it is good for GL-5 applications. This should be good for transmission correct?
  9. Thanks for the reply. Truck looks great 👍.
  10. 😆😆😆.... I'm trying to decided between putting 235s on my 15x5.5 stockies or putting them on my 15x7 wheels that I purchased when I thought I would be able to put at least 30s on them. I would rather them look closer to the wheel/tire on the far left than the wheel/tire on the far right. Which is why I was leaning towards using the stock wheels.
  11. These are 235 tires on 15x7. Are the wheels flush with the tire's tread. Or do the wheels sit inside the tread?
  12. Thanks, I'm going to go with the Thunderer Ranger A/TR 235/75R15 109T ,stock wheels and 1" spacers. They're cheap and look decent. I used some open wheel nuts that I had laying around. I was able to tighten them by hand but I couldn't get a socket on them. I'm going to measure the nuts I used and see if they sell smaller ones that I can put a socket on. Thanks
  13. Yes, a friends grandfather imported it from somewhere in the middle east to California back when he was with the military. My friend inherited it when he passed and I purchased it from him earlier this year. It is a left hand drive thankfully. I don't like my business floating around on the inter-web which is why I haven't posted a photo. Other than the front view I guess ha. It's almost road worthy, maybe a week or two 😀. This is what the truck looks like only it doesn't have a fresh coat of paint like this one does.
  14. I feel you, spending a good chunk of change for something you're not 100% happy with ain't fun. The adapters I borrowed from my brother in law are only 1.25" thick and have both the holes to mount them to the truck's wheel studs, and the spacers have their own wheel studs to attach the wheels to them. So they don't need longer wheel studs to be mounted. These toyota spacers need to have wider holes tho, to fit the nissan's slightly wider wheel studs/lug nuts. I haven't found spacers specifically made for 720's. And also the 85 4WD 4door/Krew Cab 720's. It seems they Frankensteined these with older 720 parts from the factory. they also originally came with a z22 and 4 speed in 85. Mine was swapped for a Z24 with a 5 speed by one of the previous owners. Another thing I should mention is that I'm not planning on doing any kind of serious off roading. Don't want to risk damaging any body panels or the rear doors as its going to be near impossible to find replacement body parts for this truck. It'll only be cruising to fishing spots that even my Accord could make it to and also the occasional home depot run. Which I also won't be able to fit much more than what I could fit in my accord. The bed is tiny on these. So Mike, with the gear ratio being 4.62 and the fact that it's just going to be a cruiser. You're vote is still 235/75/15 A/T tires then.
  15. Here are some pictures of the stock wheels with and without a spacer. I'm not sure if you can tell by looking at the pictures but the wheels on my truck appear to sit further in the wheel wells than other 720's photos I've seen online. The stance is too narrow. I would like the wheels to be flush with the fenders, not sticking in or out. The truck is sitting on regular 235s already and they looking wimpy hahaha. Maybe the A/T tires will look better. As far as gear ratio. The truck has 4.62 gear ratio. So I'm thinking 30s should be fine in that sense. WITH 1.25" spacer: WITHOUT spacer:
  16. Question 1: Ok, I know this question has been answered but I'm about to invest good money on tires I might not like the look of. The tire I want for my 85 720 is a 30x9.5x15. But so far what I've read is that even 29's rub while on bumpy turns. I have the stockie wheels and a set of 15x7 wheels with -6 mm offset. I'm pretty sure the torsion bars are cranked all the way up already. So with the torsion bars cranked up and the -6 mm offset how bad will the 30s rub? I've heard people say on here that the 30s don't rub on their trucks and I've heard others say they do? Also where exactly do the tires rub, is it on the suspension? Question 2: If I have to go with 235/75/15s. I'm going to run them on the stockies. The only thing is the offset on the wheels makes it so that the wheels sit way too deep in the wheel well for my liking. I borrowed some spacers from my brother in laws 82 Toy Pickup. but the wheel studs on the nissan are wider than the toyotas so I could get the lug nut in by hand but there isn't any room for a socket to tighten them. So I'm looking for recommendations on what spacers fit on the nissan thanks.

  18. All 4 wheels look identical which is why I didn't measure the backspacing. Good call, I will double check and report back, thanks. Do you happen to know what the width is for the wheels that come stock on these trucks? I read a post somewhere a while back that said they were either 15X5.5 or 15X6?
  19. If you stand directly in front of the truck it looks more pronounced. But I took the pic at a slight angle so that the rear wheel is also visible. All four wheels are OEM and identical.
  20. Agreed! At some point in my 85' 720's life somebody installed one of these puppies as well. I wish they hadn't. Not only don't I like the way it looks. Whatever filler they added to try and blend it to the shape of the roof created rust spots. I also live in southern Arizona so this is just another way for the scorching sun to come in. Only positive is that I'm short enough at 5'8" to where I can barely see it when standing in front of the truck. I can't see it if I'm standing next to or behind the truck. 90's 300zx's came with factory removable T-Top covers that are installed on the interior of the car. I'm going to see about making some sort of cover for this sunroof. Any ideas of how I should go about making a cover are welcome.

You mentioned these tires are 225/70/15 grabbers. What brand of wheels are those and are they 15x7? Do you know what offset they have if you don't mind me asking? thanks
  22. The front wheels on my 84 720 4x4 look to be about 1 1/2 inches deeper inside the wheel wells then the rear wheels. So far all the pics of front/rear wheels I've seen online of similar truck years look to be either perfectly aligned with each other or very close. Maybe pictures make it hard to see, but to me the difference in my truck's stance sticks out like a sore thumb. It doesn't look good to me. Are others using wheel spacers to widen the front stance a bit, and if so, what size spacers? Also I've been researching to see what width wheels I currently have but I can't find a straight answer. I currently am running the OEM wheels. I would rather not have to pay to dismount a tire and then pay to get it remounted to see what size wheel it is. Its a 15" wheel. Thanks
  23. Stay strong folks don't give into the constant fear mongering! As George W. Bush once said "There's an old saying in Tennessee...I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee, that says...fool me once, shame on......shame on you. Fool me.................you can't get fooled again". Read below this line at you're own risk! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> The Gov has gotten into the habit of trying to keep us in a state of constant fear/panic. Does anyone else remember that after 9/11 they created the color-coded terrorist threat advisory scale? Even when it was first being implemented, 1. I question who and how they decided the threat level should go from orange to red and then back to orange in just a matter of a few days(which i thought was more hilarious than scary)? 2. I wondered if it was a way to keep us in a state of constant fear? Now Covid-19 is created in a lab and leaked. The gov then does everything possible to put out stats that are far far worse then they actually were. They silenced all scientist, well they silenced pretty much everyone who spoke out against the fake stats. They took our freedom and forced people to take an experimental vaccine. Now they're going back to the same style of fear tactics used after 9/11. Which by the way I don't even want to get into the similarities I see between the creation/tweaking and leak of covid-19 and the attacks on 9/11. Today not only are they trying to extend the fear of covid and are clawing to maintain the control they had over the population during that time. Now the new fear/panic tactic is the whole end of the world scare due to climate change. Which interestingly enough all the counter measures that are currently being implemented and the ones that are going to be implemented in the near future to combat this. Make life substantially worse or impossible for the average/below average pawn. I didn't take the vaccine. Those who questioned my decision got the same answer "There are two coins I could flip, I can either flip the experimental vaccine coin which could possibly kill me in 5-10 years, or I could flip the anti-vax coin, and risk dying from covid"."I choose the latter, and everybody should have the right to choose which coin they want to flip without having to be judged for it." All this to say. We all willingly gave up our freedoms during covid because we were lied to. I'm going to do whatever i can to not make that same mistake.
