  1. Nice yard art. Already weathered patina.
  2. Never have understood the logic behind that. It didn’t sell at your listed price so re-list it at a higher price. Maybe the higher price will attract more interest? I just don’t get it!
  3. Mike, Circled in yellow in the picture. Is this to the factory electronic distributor? Do you know the correct wiring for it?
  4. Not sure if it’s the same on all 510’s. That location has a hole there but no thread provision for a seat belt anchor. Some have welded in an aftermarket belt anchor at that location. Depending on how tall you are and how the belt sits across your shoulder and chest, it’s better suited for location of the belt going across your shoulder and not your neck. Some have said the B pillar wasn’t engineered for a belt anchor and doesn’t have the needed strengths for it. Don't know so use your own discretion for your car and your comfort level.
  5. Have you tried asking that question to T3?
  6. Previous owner panted mine black. I thought they were polished or chromed underneath, no?
  7. Where can theses corners be purchased?
  8. Time Left: 1 day and 23 hours

Looking for a descent plastic cover that covers the torsion rods for the hatch on a 1972 510 wagon. Two part numbers show up in the parts Manual, an early and a later one. Not sure of the difference Located in the rear of the headliner. Prefer a white one, can change color though. Mostly looking for one that’s not all cracked and brittle.

  9. Where did you find NOS door trim pieces? Is that something that is still available or were they acquired a long time ago?
  10. Stroffregen, thanks that’s a great source. One of the things that bugged me about general hardware supply for metric is the larger head size compared to the original Datsun hardware head size. Haven’t looked at the pricing yet but definitely a good source for correct size hardware. zed1, good information learned about JIS screwdrivers a long, long )time ago from working on Japanese motorcycle. They are a must have to loosen Japanese Phillips head screws.
  11. Mike, Once again you’re correct. Silly me I was hoping the old part numbers would supersede up to a current Nissan part number. Most don’t. Been down a rabbit hole checking the 510 numbers without much luck. grannyknot, Thank you very much. That’s most helpful for sourcing through regular hardware suppliers. Having the correct sizes to get is great.
  12. Mike, Was thinking/hoping maybe someone had previously made a list of the most commonly used bolts and screws. My particular application is a 72 510 Wagon but so much of Datsun’s Hardware is common to many models. 420n620, Thanks that’s very helpful! With some leg work should be able to find part numbers for hardware and then some.
  13. Anybody have a general list of Nissan Hardware part numbers? Bolts, nuts, screws, etc.
  14. Where is your painter located? Does he do body work also?

    Exhaust Brass Nut

20602-A7100 is discontinued. Can find brass ones through hardware supply but not the tall ones. Like you said not sure if the originals I’m seeking were brass or bronze but they didn’t seize to the studs overtime.

    Exhaust Brass Nut

Anybody know the part number for the tall 8mm brass nut that connects exhaust pipe to exhaust manifold? Three are used on the flange connection. Are they still available from Nissan?

    Identify my 5 speed

Going from memory when I checked the welch plug, which looks like it needs to be removed to get the shift rod and seal out, and the internal seal weren’t available. Probably could have sized them and found something but didn’t try. There was no oil in the shift tube and shifter area so I left it. Did get a new rubber boot for the shifter to the shift tube so that should seal it up or at least keep it in the tube! This is for a street use cruiser so should be fine.

    Identify my 5 speed

Yenpit, good information thanks. Your correct 4 speed kit wouldn’t work but was ok to return and get credit. Purchased a 5 speed kit. Also correct information on the 5 speed kits. Didn’t know about flipping the phenolic synchro around. Mine had no problems going into 5th so hopefully I’m ok. I came up with the same idea about drilling a hole to get the tapered pin out and posted it in another thread. Decided to not do it as it wasn’t leaking before. All the parts to do it weren't available from Nissan. Mines all back together and should be fine but won’t know until car is back together.
  19. Looking for Nissan part number for the 510 fender bolts. The 6mm ones with the washer attached.

    Identify my 5 speed

Pardon my French but, well shit you’re correct I ordered a 4 speed kit! Damn. Do you think the bearings and synchro rings will work in the 5 speed. The 5 speed kits showed 71A and 71C. Didn’t see a 71B kit for the 5speed and didn’t look close enough to see the 71B kit I was ordering was a 4 speed kit.

    Identify my 5 speed

Looking at the aftermarket bearing and synchro kits for B transmission they don’t come with 5th gear synchro and some state it was a fiber synchro that is not included with the kit. Looking at mine it’s definitely not brass so thought it was fiber. I’ll have to check to see if it’s steel or fiber. Quite a learning curve on these transmissions particulars. Hopefully the bearing and synchro kit ordered is correct.

So some transmissions didn’t have the catch trough in the front of the steel plate? Thinking this feeds the rear trough. Mine has the riveted long trough in the tail section but nothing in the steel plate to feed the rear trough. Maybe there never was one in the front of the steel plate? Thought both troughs were to feed oil to the tail sleeve bearing for the driveshaft yoke.
