  1. Not necessarily true. IF it's tested on the car, they will look for that (and if they're dumb enough, will tell you 16V is okay...) If it's done off the car on our new Wells tester, we can bolt it in and simulate a running engine @ 1000rpm and will test the regulator, diode, etc.
  2. Funny you mention that. I've gone as far as driving it 'till the wheels fall off, and still managed to put the tires back on and drive it home
  3. ....the cops pull you over for speeding and you laugh.
  4. .......you're on a first name basis with the towing company.
  5. Take out the rear blocks. Those things ruin leafs. Go find a 4x4 720 and use the rear leafs out of that. They're good for about 2 inches of drop. Make some shackles and you'll have a more legit rear suspension. I THINK you can use longer bolts for the torsion bar. Not 100%. Make sure you re-index your control arms by the way, or you'll trash the bushings. Also, don't remove the bump stops. Just trim them a bit. Also for the rear you can get a pair of air shocks from Autozone for $70 that will give you the ability to adjust your rear ride height to match the front without turning a bolt. Just add air!
  6. Looks fantastic! Wish I was more local to you.
  7. You know you own a Datsun when.. The lack of oil drips on the driveway concerns you.
  8. You know you own a Datsun when.. -your lug nuts have disappeared twice. -Toyota 4-runners try to race you at stop lights... and win! -Every S13 fanboy tells you to "SR" swap it. -you ask for parts at O'Riellys, tell them Datsun, and the response is "Ain't that some kind of Chebby?"
  9. You know you drive a Datsun when... your wheel falls off.. TWICE.
  10. Your momma’s so poor when she heard about the last supper she thought she was running out of food stamps.

  11. bump. Dumb actions are dumb. I hope she and her friends learned from this mistake.. they're lucky to be alive.
  12. Stupid anti-piracy assholes. Shutting down google, facebook, etc will NOT stop online piracy.
  13. Thanks creepy!! Got mine the other day. Easiest decal install I've ever done. No peeling or any issues at all!
  14. xander, good advice. I actually considered using an electric fan after my pay check comes in and figure that should sold the majority of my issues. I re-adjusted the carb earlier last month (December) but it may need to be dialed in a little better since it's a little colder now then it was. I'd LOVE to get a block heater or park in a warm garage, but those options are out of the question.. My dad gave me shit for the cardboard idea because he's 100% convinced I shouldn't need it, but he grew up on domestics. Coming from a guy who drove Cuda's and 400 fueled C10's, it's hard to listen to him give me advice on cold weather driving in my 2.0L truck.
  15. 3/4 up the gauge? Now that's got me curious... I'm running 1/2 the gauge and that's about the warmest I've ever seen it get. For the price of a thermostat, it makes more sense to me to just run down to Nissan and get a new one and test before installing.. I'm running the highest temp available @ 192. Cardboard is step 2. Generally, 15 minuets is what it takes to warm it up. I give her some extra time every morning, usually get up and start the truck before I even get ready to go to work. SH'es reliable right now, but I'd like to try and make it easier to drive in the cold. 20 degree starts are hell.
  16. ^^ this. Also, while you're at it, I'll take a Kenmari and Cedric.
  17. Hey guys, looking for any advice for cold weather driving you can give me. My 620's struggling to heat up in 20 degree weather, with a brand new thermostat (Nissan 192 degree). I'm having issues driving under loads because the engine refuses to heat up, no matter how I drive. Up hill under load the trucks making shit power and miss-firing like crazy, even after I let it heat up for 10 minuets. It won't get to the first notch on the gauge. I've heard of using cardboard in front of the radiator to restrict some of the air flow. Is this an issue?
  18. Don't have one in the 620... I suppose I'll toss one behind the seat.
  19. Dunno if it's a big enough difference to matter, but I ran a 32/36 Weber on my A15. Straight piped, ported H85(Ithink?) head and a fresh top end rebuild. Also had MSD ign all around. It revved like an indy car, but idled like shit when it was cold. Could never get it to idle right when it was cold.
  20. Keep me updated when you do that, because those are my exact plans as well. Are you running a stock manifold, or header?

  21. God, that sounds meannnnn! My 620 dumps out a few feet after the manifold, but I don't take the revs too high since I have no tach. Yours sounds great!

  22. That wouldn't surprise me. I've heard tons of people claim their 620's in stock form get 30+ mpg when driven conservatively. My '76 does pretty close to 30 when I'm driving it right.
