  1. I dream of the glory days. My dad tells me stories from back in the 70's as a kid when gas was $.25 and when it snowed, you still had to walk to school, uphill and in 0 degree weather. Looking at where my generation is, I feel disgraced. Everyone's trying to be a gangster hardass, and somehow it's cool to treat woman like shit? Kids these days (including me) don't see how easy they have it. I love watching movies based pre-1980. life looked so much more fun. I'd love to have the opportunity to grow up those days. Hitch, you're an awesome guy. Easy to talk to, great advice, and an awesome person in general. Not to mention you have a ton of Datsuns One less now, thanks to me. I think my favorite thing about Datsuns is the community, and this thread is why.
  2. Use 720 4x4 leafs, and air shocks to stiffen the ride and give you an adjustable ride height. We'll be setting up some meets soon ;) for now, Master-O-Turbonetics old rims!
  3. Yup! That's the main reason I got them. lol I have 75 series tires on the truck with 215's, and the bubbly sidewall won't clear the lip of the fender. Right now it's on lift shackles, so now I can put stock shackles on the truck and be tucking.
  4. Patience my friends! I just got them home 4 hours ago. lol Master-o-turbonetics dropped them in the bed of my truck while I was at work. They're 521 steelies and dog dishes. Gonna spray bomb them flat white tomorrow afternoon and polish up the dirty chrome dog dishes for a test fit :)
  5. Holy crap, you're really running 20 degrees advance? Is that at idle? My A15 ran like crap @ 20 degrees. I made a ton more power around 5-7 btdc
  6. Not even $5 anymore. We carry an awesome quality cheapo filter for the 1/4 fuel line. I cut one open to check out the material and it seemed to be some pretty quality product for the price. I keep one in the glovebox since I have a rusty tank. http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Performance/Universal-Fuel-Filter/_/N-25ek
  7. Well, lets just put it this way. My A15 in my 210 after the porting, MSD ign, weber, etc moved about as hard as this L20B in the truck The springs were chosen because they were easily installed (thanks again M-O-T!) and were a more legit way of lowering it. Believe it or not, the truck is actually still on LIFT shackles in the rear! Once I get the new shackles on the rear I'll be tucking in the rear. With blocks I'll be a few short inches from the ground. Where was your truck at??? What flange did you use on the other side? I can't seem to find anyone with a flange that bolts onto the collector on the header From my understanding, it's a pretty standard flange and most of the headers use the same one. ^^Actually there were a few odd ball ones in the last month or so. SF is planning a new one soon so keep an eye out! Theres one in Cordele GA which is pretty close to you from google maps. I'll have to get more info and keep posting. Are you on IA screamer?

  9. Thanks guys!! Get one man! They aren't too bad. Mine was only $730 something with taxes. Thanks dude. I'm glad you showed up, lol that got me a good laugh. I had no idea you broke down up the road. Total stress reliever. I'm getting new wheels tonight hopefully, so I'll have new shoes for Penske to run on!

sweet! i wanna oic. i still need tires for my wheels. ridin the stock donuts on the front and 225's in the back. looks goofy.

  11. Yeah fuck that.... I'll go to an old abandoned grocery store. Or get one of those classy rubber suits. haha

  12. I think what interests me most, is that as an amateur photographer, the photo ops would be enormous. Not to mention the historic finds in some of those apartments... lots of doors that haven't been open in 30 years.

  13. Bet you can't find the opposite of these words and say them real fast: always coming take me down

  14. Might be easier to replace a larger section if they've started to rust away. I found rust holes in the bottom of the doors of my 210. I tried welding them, but the metal was too thin and I was burning holes straight through. You may be luckier then me, since they're not rust holes.
  15. Thanks for the heads up Mike! I haven't serviced the diff since I got it, and I don't know when it was done, so I'm gonna go ahead and do it. The Oil could use changing so I can try and clean the vent tube anyways. Yup! Says "Safe for brass and other yellow metals" right on the front. The Penzoil stuff is awesome.
  16. Thanks for the help guys! As an update, she's running much better now. I dried out the filter with a light hair drier. I've got: High Mileage Penzoil/Bosch combo for the oil, GM Synchromesh for trans Lucas Synthetic 80W-90 for the diff. My exhaust doesn't have anymore carbon on it
  17. My air filter is brand new. i JUST put a proper air cleaner on it the other day If I hadn't, I probably would have wrecked this motor. MIke, how do you judge if a ign rotor is in need of replacment? I was asked this question and I wasn't sure how to answer it... Corrosion on leads and deteriorated contacts? Karma has a cold heart
  18. They don't even know you're trolling until it's too late
  19. WOW! Holy hell Frams are cheaper then shit. Kinda wanted to do this for a long time. HRH, what does a NapaGold filter run for the L20B? I'm sure you know this off the top of your head P/N for the highest capacity filter would be nice too
  20. I do it all the time Called them the other night looking for Apex seals for an 89 Mazda 626. reverse trolling!
  21. That's what I was figuring I think more then anything I'm looking for an excuse to spend the $50 the IR alternator Kinda hard avoiding puddles around here :( we were under flash flood conditions. Hardest rain I've ever driven in. I anticipated it, but the puddle was all the way out into both lanes. I have never seen it that big. I think she's happy for the night :) I got her nice and warm trying to dry her out. Drove her home nice and easy! LOL yeah it's clean under the hood. I steam cleaned everything! haha All my prior oil leaks from the pan are gone. It's an EI dizzy and I sprayed it out already (great minds think alike) Didn't think about the bushings though, good call. I have some MMO laying around, so I'll do that. overkill or not, better safe then sorry. I think i'll go to Advance and get their Valvoline/Wix filter deal. $20 back rebate! Gonna build some pans in the next few days. It's wild over here.
  22. Got a few related/unrelated questions, so I'm condensing it. I was driving to work tonight in a thunder storm. i was in the left lane approaching my turn lane to my Autozone, when I saw a huge (bout 1-2 foot deep) puddle that collects in heavy rain. I had traffic to my right, so I braked hard anticipating the puddle to be deeper then I thought and hit it at about 20mph. It was enough to blow water under the hood and up into my air cleaner. I hit the clutch as I hit the water, and the engine stalled instantly form about 2K RPM. I rolled into the parking lot (couldn't really stop, since the drums were all soaked.) I was able to bump the starter and it spit a bit before it stalled. I pulled plugs 1-3 and hit the starter for a second to blow the water out, and I was able to get it re-started, however now i have a few issues: -My idle fluctuates and is rougher. -My alternator is pulsing and produces 14V under no load at 1000RMP. With any load (headlights heater etc) it drops to 12.5V and I see my lights pulsing. Anywhere above idle I get around 13V. Volt reg is brand new. It makes plenty of power and there are no funny noises other then a noisy alt squeak. Are there any concerns I should note or anything I should look into as precaution? I had a friend that lost a motor to hydrolock a month ago, and don't want to loose my motor. It runs WAYYY too good! Unrelated: What's the correct weight GL-5 does the H190 use? I've got 1 quart of 85W-90 and 85W-140 Lucas Synthetic laying around...
  23. What weight/capacity GL5 for an H190 truck diff?
