  1. Yessir! Sure is. She's nice too  Sneak preview @ my new play toys.
  2. Thanks guys! Added two more. Hoping to have my front end straight soon so we can do an ATL Datsun photo shoot.
  3. I do about 25MPH on a bad day in my '76 with a Weber. Sounds like you're getting pretty shit gas mileage. Most of that garbage isn't working at this point anymore and can be removed. Hold onto PCV and ditch the rest.
  4. Got to play a little with Juan's Lil' Husler tonight and figured I'd share a few pictures of one of ATL's nicest Datsuns. 5. This is NOT my truck (obviously) but I'm trying to help diagnose a funny noise. Sounds like a dying squirrel under the hood. We searched all over for vacuum leaks but weren't able to locate any. The truck runs fantastic, makes plenty of power, and doesn't even hesitate to leave you behind. (Ignore the backfire in the vid. That was prior to a timing adjustment) The truck is L18 w/ Weber and a shortie header. We were able to narrow down using a medical grade stethoscope that the sound is coming from the secondary barrel on the driver side under the idle jet. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDUYCXgigyw
  6. Find some stock S13 240sx wheels and your done. 205/60/15's are cheap to find too
  7. 15x8's mounted in the rear. SOOO much better!

  9. Fender mirrors? Easy! I'm getting these some time in a few months. http://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-B120-B121-B122-620-720-UTE-PAIR-FENDER-MIRROR-/260990225831?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3cc43acda7&vxp=mtr#ht_4091wt_1037
  10. Okay, lets back up a few notches and focus first on getting it wired on the datto. -Heavy red wire goes directly to battery + -Heavy black wire goes to a good chassis ground OR battery - -Smaller red wire goes to a 12V switched wire. Meaning something that only provides 12V when the ign switch is on. You can use the current - coil wire to do so, since it provides a 12V switched source and will NOT be used again here. -The Purple/Green go to the two wires currently hooked up to the matchbox on the dizzy. The matchbox is removed and will not be used here. Purple wire runs to green in the dizzy, and green to red. -Orange and Black wires run to the ignition coil. The two wires that were attached to the coil are eliminated and no longer used. Orange to Posative+ and Black to Negative- I think the MSD 6al has a switch to select 4,6,8 cylinder so check to make sure that you have the right one selected. The car will now run! NOW for your tach, there is a white wire on the 6AL that now feeds your tach. You no longer have to hook it up to your coil- Just to clear up a few last points... No, the existing dizzy wires are replaced by orange/black. No sir! Hook it to the white wire. That's your new tach signal wire.
  11. EASY. if it's like what I remember it's only a few wires. -12V constant -12V switched (ign 12v source is best. use -coil wire for the switched 12v source) -Magnetic pick up (the two wires in the dizzy that run to the ign control) -Ground.. run it to a good ground source and if possible, run a ground strap from there to the battery. -Two coil wires go to... coil duh. Yours also may have a tach output wire, but that's not required to make it run. You need a wiring diagram to wire it properly and should have one with it, BUT...
  12. I love my idle. (click) Making new caster rod bushings.
  13. Shitttttt man, if only. lol I talked to insurance again today, and the female agent (who sounds SMOKING HOT by the way) told me that the people were being very difficult to get a hold of and seem only interested in the $$$ aspect of it. Apparently, they never even tried to file a claim with their own insurance and at this point, we aren't even sure if they have a lawyer or not because the people they claimed were representing them claimed they were not doing so. On another note, she also gave me her personal phone number and told me to call her if I *ever need anything.* She must have been trolling through my photobucket albums outside of the accident album. She wants muh diiiiiiiiiiiiiiiick  In all seriousness, I'll have this worked out soon. I'm tired of climbing through the truck to get in it.
  14. I've decided I like it! For the price, you can't beat it. Feels just like the one on the truck, from what I can tell it's identical in every way (except much shinier.) My only complaints are that it has small scratches all across the top and bottom lips. The chrome is cheap, but nice. I figure I can polish it out with some oil and steel wool. It may cost me more to ship this back and get a replacement then it would to just order another. All in all, very happy with it for the price. We'll see how it fits soon. Just waiting for a few more pieces.
  15. Are you disconnecting the vacuum advance when adjusting static timing?
  16. This is overdue for a bump. Lots been going on, but no repairs :( My insurance company denied her claim, but now that they've done that, she filed a lawsuit against me and my policy and claiming injuries (come at me bro!) and the only thing they're going off of as a basis is the police report. Unfortunately, the police report was written with minor details and doesn't reflect correct information. I was advised to speak with the officer about getting it revised, and I've been all over the officer about it. In the report, is lists that the lady I hit claimed we were into the turn when I hit her which isn't consistent with the damages to our vehicles. The damage indicates she was to my right and the collision was in a straight line, and not into a turn. I was going over the accident report and noticed that the officer listed our direction of travel incorrectly. He listed her traveling West, and me traveling East, which are polar opposites and will hopefully invalidate the current police report and catch the officers attention. It WILL be revised no matter who I have to piss off. I'm trying to be nice about it, but the lack of investigating done is really screwing me so I'm pushing for a revision.

  18. dammit, 510 freak beat me to it. Welcome to Ratsun! ollz

  19. Since when do you have a 1200? There was a thread simialar to this the other day. Did the alternator come off of the '81 motor on go on the 1200? Or are you using the A12 (1200) alternator? 81 alternator is IR, but the 1200 uses an external regulator. My understanding is that the IR alt with the external reg back feeds the ignition system. May want to investigate this.
  20. very nice man! Was that one just on craigslist?
  21. Welcome to Ratsun. Where are you at in Georgia? Good to see another GA 620 owner. L18 and a 5 speed? Good deal. Go for electronic ignition (not so much for power, but good for cold start/driving. Weber 32/36 DGAV carb or dual SU's. Should give you plenty more HP's. L18 is capable of a lot of top end power. You could always go for the larger L20B. Look in the 75(ish) and up 620's, 710's, etc. Bolt in 112HP stock.
