James, I made some pink ratsun g-strings, but I dunno if you'll fit in them... Since either noone on here has girlfriends, or they do and they suck at life, these never got sold and need to find a warm home.

I set my wrench on the curb and wailed on it with the 4lb hammer. Worked great, got the carb off. IDK what that metal line from the carb to the dizzy is, must be vacuum advance? Anyhow, I was worried it wouldn't come off, but it did. Choke cable and throttle off. Got the carb sittin on the ground right now :D Gently loosened all the bolts for the hood hinges. All but one cooperated. the other I'll wait till I get some more PB Blaster. Not a single bug on the radiator! Got the upper hose and fan shroud off without trouble. Figured the alt would be seized... Nope it spins real nice. Removed the belt. Water pump spins and no play. Glad they drained the coolant before storing the car in 1990. Finally dug in far enough to try and turn the motor by hand, which it does like a dream. Pulled off the fuel pump and filter, will replace both. Cracked the bleeders on the brake master, was worried for no reason. That was stored dry as well. H5 might be coming over with a complete exhaust. There's a tiny but of the old one left on the manifold, I'll have to tackle that when I get more penetrant. Once I swap in a clean tank, carb, and exhaust, should be able to try and fire it up! Dizzy cap super clean, spark plugs pristine. No corrosion whatsoever on the fuse block. I'm very optomistic about getting this on the road. If I still had a job, or any kind of cash, this thing would be running already!

Fawk, ran out of penetrant. Not good. Anyone have tips tricks for getting the carb nut off, the one on passenger side front? It's the only thing holding me up from getting this junk carb off. Cracked it loose but can't get the wrench on it well enough to turn it.

Slowly wading through my last handful of shirt orders. Got a decent amount of stuff cut for Canby, but not enough yet. If anyone has suggestions of what decals they'd like to see there, or specific colors, I'd love some input.

I bit off more than I could chew with the brown wagon. A lot a fucked up shit happened to me right after I bought it. Bullshit between me and my babie's mamma. Wasn't in the position to put so much energy into a toy. I'm positive Karnutz will take good care of it. This one only cost $100 more, and it's fully complete. I can do this. And I'm keeping the column shift. This car has such low miles and great maintenance, all I wanna do is drive it for now.

Made some progress today. Got the LR wheel off Probably gonna need a couple new studs and some lugnuts. Looks like the LR drum is gonna come apart without a fight, we'll see about the bleeder though. Wanted to get the spare off and mount on the LR, but it's seized pretty bad. Will probably cut the chain. Removed what was left of the exhaust and muffler. Cool OEM locking gas cap. Lock cylinder was seized, had to break it a little. Washed it a bit, got all the green shit off the glass. All the windows go up and down good. Drained out all the bad gas in the tank. Gotta flush it real good, there's a lot of gunk. Next up getting ahold of a working carb, finish flushing the fuel system, and hook up a battery see if she'll start. Then fill up the brake master, replace brake pads, and hope the bleeders don't all snap off.

Fasteners are rusted to fuck. I know they'll snap. Think I'll fill and drain a few times. If I can get the fuckin locking gas cap off. Went and got a pan, pulled the plug again. Less than 12oz of "oil" came out, then gas...

I thought perhaps they were trying to preserve the fuel tank. Not sure. I don't think it's gas, it has the viscosity, color, and smell of motor oil. Wouldn't varnished gas be thinner and have a sour smell. Oh btw, there's quite a bit, I had to hurry and put the plag back in. Made a bit of a mess. Ima go put a pan under there and drain it out. Any ideas on how to flush it out?

WTF!!!! I pulled the drain plug on the fuel tank and motor oil comes out. Anyone know why?

Well 6 days ago I posted here saying I wanna do this "someday" when I get another Datto. Well I'll be damned! I got one that qwick, and it has the stock radio! I'll be trying this and reporting back. Thanks again for posting this where everyone can see.
