  1. Well, haven't you paid attention to the "trans" movement? It's gotta have SOMETHING to do with that.............😆
  2. John is still around?? If you talk to him, tell him TJ from Engel Imports says hello! (that was in the 1990's) His rep was Vicki, but when she was busy or out, he & I talked! I remember him advertising in Hemmings!
  3. Ha, I see NOTHING stupid about THAT build!!! 😎
  4. Ummm, sorry, no..............😜 So Google is good. Gauss developed something regarding magnetics, that eventually lead to EV technology?? 🤓
  5. Go to "parts for sale" right here, one or two listings down "Good 1973-79 Datsun 620 Truck Parts", has an L20B. He's an older guy in southern Missouri, might be worth a road trip. Any engine for shipping would be on a pallet truck freight, which many sellers don't want to mess with AND today very expensive cuz of fuel costs & FJB inflation............. Also look up Kenny Lukenbill on Facebook, he is a big 510 guy in Indiana!
  6. How close to the Ozarks International Raceway are you? They are hosting a vintage race event in October & there are usuallya handful of 510 (4cyl) racers, often looking for parts! I sell LOTS of Datsun parts & when we go racing nationally, I always post up a hand written FOR SALE ad on the bathroom walls (that's usually where everybody does!) and I also offer pre-sale to haul parts (usually bigger heavier etc) to the race track for buyers. If you do this, request PRE payment & no refunds.............thankfully I have never hauled anything big & NOT gotten paid! I also have a 510 buddy in Kansas City MO, that is NOT online, he might be interested! Sounds like you have quite a few mechanical & engine parts, which a Datsun 510 racer might be interested in! I might be able to help, cuz I know many of the 510 racers (I'm a 510 nut & we race 240Z's). I will PM you for contact info! TJ Denver CO
  7. That's one reason why I did it 10+ years ago..............I don't weld (well) & didn't want to bother a buddy!
  8. Ummmmm yes, you can................HE DOES!!!!!!!!!!!!! FJB 😆 PS I just went to emoji's to find an AMERICAN FLAG & they don't offer it here. WTH is that all about? Commies!!!!!!!!!! 😖
  9. We talked about the late Nissan V8 (Armada & trucks) in a 280Z, but we ended up with an 80k mile LS1 out of a Vette. Now I just gotta find the right 280Z!
  10. Hmph!! 😝 Well, I did Mike's split collar strut mod about 10 years ago on a budget build & never had a problem! So there!! 🤪 There are a TON of old school cheap mods out there! I see them on cars. The 510 I just bought was built in the mid 80's, so there are some odd mods done, some I will upgrade, some I will leave alone! I have a mostly complete set of the four generations (UFO, 510Again, Dime Quarterly ??) of the old 510 club newsletters & have read most of them. Some sketchy stuff, but some really great ideas!!
  11. I have heard that you can use on Triumph & I think use Triumph on Datsun, but I do NOT know the details or what needs to be done. When I was in British parts, I started to hear of some cross over parts, but I didn't get involved with the Z cars until I came here to Ignite 7+ years ago! I was aware that you could use the Z car finned drums on a 510 if you cut off the outer lip on the brake backing plate, but I never looked at the possible TR6 cross over!
  12. Last I heard, the finned aluminum were NLA NLS, even in the aftermarket. You can still buy NEW, but they are standard steel. If anybody needs any finned aluminum ones, I have a stack of USED ones. I have them machined & measured before I sell them, then they only need cleaning & sandblasting!
  13. Don't bother with Colorado, as long as POS Polis libtard is governor. He is slowly chipping away in the same direction as CA etc. On January 1st of this year, he implemented CA's CARB emission program, which simply sucks for those that have "newer" classic cars from 1977 on. We built a really nice 1977 280Z for the boss & we had to install a caty converter. The FI system is stock, with a rebuilt MAF, an open element air filter, headers & a mild exhaust system. We have not attempted to get it thru the emission sniff test, but we are not looking forward to it. If he is not voted out OR another libtard gets voted in, I will likely skeedaddle out of here in the next few years. I spent 22 years in SW Michigan before CO & I am hearing/reading that the libtard gov'n there are also screwing things up, stirring the pot............😑
  14. Yes sir........THIS!!! 😎 😉
  15. Here's the weird thing tho............I am NOT vax'd & I had very similar symptoms, which makes me think it is solely the Covid MAN MADE virus, that affected everybody, not necessarily the vax. I honestly don't think the "vax" worked at all. My opinion & that's ok,right? I know many will say something like "I got the vax, so my symptoms were minimal, although I still got Covid!". OK, but why were my symptoms so similar, being NOT vax'd? Maybe your natural immune system worked like mine? I also think that the vax actually killed many, cuz of comorbidities (sorry, spelling??)..........they had no chance. Maybe @Dguy210 can shed some light, cuz of his medical experience?
  16. Well, I've had very similar symptoms during this period.................I am NOT vax'd. That was my choice, you & most others made your choice. I trusted that my immune system was strong enough, based on how I handled things, based on my added supplement intake & what media I was paying attention to (Christian news, shows & americasfrontlinedoctors.org etc) 😑
  17. I had a gut feeling about this a very long time ago. Blame Trump then for NOT handling the "vaccine" (yup, in quotes) properly. Blame Trump later, when the truth comes out about the "vaccine". In my view, Trump RELIED COMPLETELY on Fauci (cuz that's what he gets paid for!) & those under him that claimed to know what they were doing & in reality they either did NOT know what they were doing and/or they had an agenda (another subject). This is just gonna get dirtier, until "they" are ALL GONE. Drain that smelly swamp!! F**king train wreck...................😖

We have a guy here in Colorado Springs, manages Pikes Peak Intn'l Raceway, has a 411 Wagon & a 521 with full Miata running gear & suspension. I think he is bob3 here on Ratsun.......?? Anyway, I got a ride in the 521 around the track...............he is a CRAZY man, but a great driver!!
  19. Nice lookin' 620! If you are good with custom electrical, you can use the factory engine harness for the KA & delete all the stuff that your 620 does not have or need. We have seen absolute rats nests of horrible wiring on quite a few "swapped" Datsuns! 😆 Another option is to buy a Wiring Specialties engine harness for the KA...........they are killer nice!! You will have a couple options like wiring for AC, emissions etc, otherwise it is plug n play to the KA engine & I believe needs two "hot" wires from the 620 ie switched ON ignition etc. Pretty straight forward & clean! Good luck with the project!
  20. Sounds like you are misinformed, but that's ok! As said above, the L20 was a 6cyl engine, the L20B is a 4cyl engine. You can use just about ANY of the 4cyl L series cylinder heads (there are at least 8-10 different casting #'s), but you should choose based on what engine you have (L16 L18 L20B?), what compression ratio your engine is (dished, semi-dished, flat top, pop top/domed pistons) & what intake/carburetor(s) you are using. Post some more info & I'm sure somebody can guide you!
  21. Had a guy come out to grab the same drip rails off of a Wagon parts car I have (yes going back on a Wagon!), he pulled them off, said they came off easy! I know the Wagon drip rail is much flatter, where as the Sedan has a consistent bow front to back, so that must be why the Sedan is harder.........??
  22. FYI all British cars after the early 1950's are SAE............it is a myth that they are Whitworth or metric. The pre-early 50's were British Whitworth. However, like GM & Ford did in the 1980's on some cars, British Leyland started MIXING hardware on the 1975-1981 Triumph TR7, from SAE to metric...............40+ years in the British parts industry & I have no explanation WHY they did that, cuz it only made things worse! Yup, I found out shortly after buying my 1972 521, that much (maybe all??) of the hardware is SAE. They guy I got it from was also unaware, cuz he jammed a few metric bolts in where they should have been SAE! All of that said, I think what Stoffregen & I are suggesting, is that the INTERNAL parts on the hydraulic components, ie pistons & seals etc, might be the same as the British of that same era, because the Japanese DID license some parts from the British ie the SU carburetors, which Hitachi made in to their own. I simply never thought of a possible crossover!
  23. I've heard of some crossover parts, but haven't thought much about hydraulic parts!!?? Hmmmmmmmm.......
  24. Suggestion............leave that drip rail stainless trim ON THE CAR, work around it carefully & mask it off! They are a massive pain to remove & often get bent AND if you remove them & then lay on too much paint on the actual drip rails, they won't fit back on properly & can get beat up/dented while TRYING to get them back on! Just my 2c!
