  1. Correct, hard to find rebuild kits at any parts store these days. I have quite a few NOS kits, but I have never researched fitment of what I have. If YOU can come up with an old Beck Arnley, Vera, CEW or OEM Datsun part #'s, I am happy to see if I have what you need! You will need to dig deep, cuz most of these old "paper catalog" databases are not easily found. You can post here & hopefully the system will notify me OR better yet, send me a PM!
  2. My suggestion is do NOT try to ship them with tires, if you have tires on them..................VERY expensive, unless you have a commercial account with deep discounts! Dismount the tires! The beauty of being 14in (are you sure?), is they fit not only the Z cars, but the 510's, Roadster's etc. It's ALL about condition ie curb marks, lug nut holes (I have a pair where somebody ovalled out the holes to fit something...................they are junk, they are wall hangers, they are a hose reel!! πŸ˜†) I've gotten $400 for a nice set, but that was a few years ago, so likely valued more now...........
  3. To assemble an engine? Unfortunately, we do not offer a build quote, as every build is different. With machine work, labor & parts, it is really easy to spend $5000 minimum up to $15000 (for a built to hilt engine), with many options in between. Please avoid California Datsun like the plague, as many have said online. We will no longer use the other big Datsun engine builder in CA, for our race engines.....................too many issues in last 4 years. Street engines I think they would be OK..................?? 4. Solid! Have you ever had a 510? If so, great, you should have some experience in putting this puzzle back together! If not, buy the crappiest most clapped out, most complete 70-73 4dr or Wagon you can find (of course a 2dr, but not many cheap ones these days), to use as a guide, let alone for parts! The 4dr differences is mostly in the doors, period. A couple other differences, but nothing else big. The Wagon is Wagon from doors back, but the front clip, front suspension, dash etc are mostly the same. The dash & tail wiring harnesses ARE different, but similar.......not interchangable, but a good guide. Seeing you own/have owned other Datsun's, there are lots of basic engineering similarities to the B210 & evven the trucks, but few parts interchange.
  5. Do NOT open up that oil hole! A customer purchased a built to the hilt L20 race engine, we installed it, first race his valve cover literally filled up with oil & made one hell of a mess! Upon pulling the cyl head, found that the oil hole had been opened up WAY to much, thus pumped loads of oil up to the cyl head!
  6. Also, for nice rust repair/crash patch panels, check out www.kfvintagejdm.com! The panels out of Canada are JUNK. The panels out of Australia are good, but expensive to ship. FutoFab only sells reproduction OE full size panels ie rear 1/4's etc, but his full size panels are nice. Good luck with the project!

A choke cable? Is the 32/36 carburetor on the car a manual choke? If so, I should have the factory manual choke cable parts...................PM me! You could also go to AutoZone etc & buy a universal fit manual choke cable kit. They are kinda crappy looking, but gets the job done. If the 32/36 is an auto choke, there MIGHT be a kit online to convert to manual (look at Redline or Pierce Manifolds etc), otherwise you would need to replace the carb with a manual carb & cable!
  8. We us "PanelBond" 2pt epoxy to "glue" our fiberglass flares on our Z car builds.............way more technologically advanced than other earlier epoxies! Then we fill in with a light skim of bondo. One car the transition to the body was smooth, another car the body shop actually created a nice line all around the flare at the body, looked nice! I have LOTS of small parts ie 70-73 dash panels & trim etc. PM a list if you are searching!
  9. Looks decent! If you need any body rust repair patch panels, look no further than www.kfvintagejdm.com! We use his 240Z patch panels & they are MUCH better than any of the other panels on the market! He will have those rear 1/4 patch panels! He manufactures them in South America & ships worldwide right from his manufacturing plant. If you want to learn more about the leaf spring rear suspension, all of the 1968-1972 510 Wagons had the leaf springs, so research the Wagons! The same basic modifications should apply to the Sedan leaf spring set up (all of our USA spec Sedan's had the IRS). There have been a few Wagon's converted to IRS here in the States..............I have a local buddy that did it. He bought a complete rear Sedan IRS from me AND the Sedan complete rear seat floor section, cuz it has the mounting points for the IRS. He cut, modified, fabricated & welded it all himself, but it was a BIG PROJECT! Not for the faint of heart & NOT cheap to pay somebody to do it! I can't imagine what it would cost you to SHIP IN all of those parts to Greece, cuz very bulky & quite heavy! Ouch! πŸ˜†
  10. PS I'm in Denver, if in the end you want to make a road trip from NE!
  11. I have two Z/ZX 5spd PARTS transmissions. Your 2WD 5spd should be similar to at least one of these. The early Z/ZX 5spd is completely taken apart & in boxes..............I know that I have these shift forks/paddles in there. The later 5spd is still partially assembled, but we may be disassembling it soon, as we are rebuilding another that may need parts (according to the customer). Swapping pics here on Ratsun is a pain.............I'm happy to try to help, to see if what I have is the same as what you need, but I would need you to send me an EMAIL to yenpit@hotmail.com, with some good pics, maybe with a tape measure showing an approximate measurement. If approximate looks good, we can break down further with more precise measurements. I will need you to give me all of that info & I will see if mine are the same. Other option for you is to research the actual part #'s for what you want & cross reference between your 1985 5spd & my 1977-1980 280Z/280ZX. This is Nissan's earliest 5spd with the .864 5th gear ratio. Yours should NOT be the same ratio 5spd, but these parts MIGHT be the same...........??
  12. You will struggle to find any replacement coil springs, as this car was simply not popular in the aftermarket & NEW parts from Nissan (Datsun) are likely long NLA NLS. Also keep in mind that the load capacity of these little Wagon's was nothing compared to the bigger domestic Wagon's, thus you would likely see sagging with any sort of a heavy load. You might consider air shocks, but you will likely NOT find a listing...........you will need to research measurements & mounting details, to find an air shock that would work. Hope that helps & good luck with the project!
  13. Do you have a proper wiring schematic? The schematics in the various "aftermarket" shop manuals is Haynes, CHilton's etc MAY not be correct, especially for the 1969 model year! First, is your car an ACTUAL 1969 model year? Sweeper speedo (not the round 1970-1973 style), vertical heater slide controls (not horizontal), small round rear sidemarkers & long "arrow" front sidemarkers? If yes to all, then you have an actual 1969 (some 1968's were titled as 1969 & some 1970's were titled as 1969, so can be confusing). You can order a hand drawn (thus correct!) color schematic from paolo@cedarcomm.com. He offers a small one & a large one............I have both! You might be able to find one online, but you MUST be sure it is for your 1969 model year............most of the ones I've seen online are for the 70-72 510, which are NOT correct for your 1969!
  14. EDM620 still believes that Trump actually meant that..............yes, it was an obnoxious comment, made by a mean tweeter, taken completely out of context by the libtard left! Blinders, baby!! πŸ™„ Midterms can't come soon enough..................drain that stinky nasty swamp!! 😝
  15. HA! I've tried everything over the years! I DID just get a local numbing shot or two & had a needle in my hand to draw blood for a few minutes..........no issue. My new doctor is cute & very sympathetic to a pathetic MAN that doesn't like needles!! πŸ˜† When in pre-op a few months ago, waiting for doctor, needle (catheter??) in my hand, I was fine for a few minutes, trying NOT to think about the needle & I started to white out. Nurse was right there, it passed, nothing bad happened! 😜
  16. Spotted a tan 2dr 210 with dogdish hub caps on a trailer yesterday, in Arvada CO! I could NOT chase him down! Looked like it had been sitting for quite a while. Anybody on here?? TJ
  17. Are you on the Facebook pages? One JUST showed up for sale the other day! Sorry, those ads get lost quickly for me, so near impossible to find it for you!
  18. Yup. I stopped getting the "flu shot" around 2007. I "whited out" when I got that last shot, my co-worker jammed a piece of candy in my mouth & POOF I came out of it. I likely stopped because of my fear of needles, but I was already starting to question western meds more & more (Mom studied biology in school, worked in industry for some years, hated the direction that western meds went), so my dislike of western meds started to surface (I was always blessed with good health) before I "required it" last year for high blood pressure. First med..............a bad cough side effect! My FIRST real western med & I have a side effect! Whodda thunk!! πŸ™„πŸ˜ Nope, I'll work hard at maintaining my natural immunity, thank you very much!!
  19. I did see 2000 Mules..............mind blowing, but don't put it past them! I'm glad to see many States adopting laws banning "other voting processes" & requiring an ID. They will still try, but we are going to make it much harder to get away with it. Best possible scenario? They try, they get caught red handed this time, Republicans regain power & they are prosecuted! THAT would make my day, my year!! OK, back to Covid!! πŸ˜‚
  20. Because it no longer "pushes" their agenda forward, the libtards are no longer reporting on it. But I do believe that the worst part is long over. My roommate is an RN............Covid is still around, but the NATURAL (I know you know this! 😎) progression of just about any virus, has made it considerably weaker, along with the strengthened NATURAL immunity in society. I believe that the original strain is really is no longer a threat, but I still see people every single day wearing masks outside by themselves (and of course, indoors)..............I just shake my head, feel sorry for the level of fear that they still have. I too, know I'm done with that crap! However, as I mentioned in my response to you know who, I am seeing more references about a resurgence, but I FIRMLY believe it is politically motivated. The libtards are scrambling to save their agenda, their power, so I think they WILL attempt another run at this, as the midterms approach & of course, after as we slide into the 2024 elections.
  21. Get yer head out of your rear end...................this is ancient news AND/OR ancient news that the libtards are recycling to prep morons for their recycling of the Covid mess again....................cuz the midterms are approaching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully, people open their eyes & run this libtard swamp DRY!!!!!!!!! πŸ˜† 😜
  22. Wiring harnesses for the Datsun's are tough. I'm a 510 guy, part out 510's & am ALWAYS on the hunt for good USED harnesses to use on projects or sell! At work, we do a lot of Z cars. The last three street cars needing wiring harness work, we started at one end & worked thru the harness, looking for ANY issues...............most have issues like melted wires, broken plugs/terminals, horrible modifications/repairs etc. Example..........1972 full resto, customer says ".........here is a good harness to use!" We spotted one small "melted spot", so we UN wrapped it to inspect. A wire, almost full length of the wrapped harness was melted, melting into other wires bunched with it! That USED harness that he said was good, turned into a $1000 rebuild, JUST for the wiring harness! Happens all the time, even with 510's etc!! I can sell every good wiring harness for the 510's, Z cars, 620's etc that I find. Sorry, I do not have any 1973 240Z harness sections. Vintageconnections is the only source for new repop harness PLUGS & TERMINALS, they have most.......but the problem is, you can not contact them & buy for any particular model! All you can do is sit down with your harness, start at one end, visually locate each plug on their website & make a list to buy! You will find quite a few same plugs throughout the harness. We like to use 3M's "friction tape" to RE-wrap the harness. All of this is a very long drawn out tedious job, but I'm not aware of anybody making new wiring harnesses throughout any Datsun production range (I'll have to go look at that ZCarDepot harness for the early cars you mentioned!) If you are shopping for USED, every harness section had a small white plastic PART # TAG somewhere on it. The engine compartment tag is often gone, but the others inside the car are usually intact. Trace the other part #'s to find the correct matching engine compartment part # online (you CAN find most 1970's Datsun wiring harnesses schematics/diagrams published online, but have fun.........they are NOT well cataloged from Datsun!! If you want plug & play, you need to locate THAT SAME PART # harness section(s) that your car should have, otherwise you may likely run into electrical glitches. If they changed a wiring circuit, they typically changed the switches/relays involved. Example.........USA spec 1968 510 only, 1969 510 only, first 6 mo's of 1970 510 only, late 1970-1972 510 is basically the same, 1973 510 only. On top of that the 2dr/4dr Sedan is different than the Wagon!! I found this out years ago, working on a buddy's early production 1970 510, that melted the dash harness. I attempted to "adapt" a later harness, but the color codes of the wires were NOT even the same. That said, it took me 6+ mo's to find the correct plug & play USED dash harness, by part #.........out of CANADA!! Ugh, that sucked!! Electrical is often very complicated! I worked in the British parts industry for years...........same situation, but there is a company in the UK that DOES make most of the common MG Triumph Jaguar harnesses, applied by vin # & cataloged. We are NOT so lucky in the Datsun community........yet. Hope that helps guide you............
  23. Just as a side note for 620 owners..............I believe kfvintagejdm.com will have 620 King Cab cab corners, cuz he did buy an NOS panel..........I guess it would be called the B pillar..........regardless, it is the lower cab corner. You can contact Gerson for 720 KC cab corners, but he really hasn't delved into the 720........yet!
  24. Many lock cylinders have a key code stamped on them. Find a good old school locksmith, let them have a go at it! Remind them the caps are NOT cheap, so please be careful! If the cap is still on the car, you might have a problem! I don't think you can access the phillips head screws that hole the filler neck to the body, with the factory cap in place......?? You might need to hire a mobile locksmith to drill out the cylinder, then possible replace the cylinder.......??
