  1. Yes I have the horn button, have to repair the steering wheel before I put it back on. Also yes to phoenix and the ugly caps, want to buy them cheap? Today I re wired all the rear lights, cut down the front bump stops and screwed the torsion bars back to get the front dropped. I lubed everything up front while I was at it. I also adjusted the steering box to take the play out, now I have no slop in the steering, should drive a lot better. The last thing I did until it got too dark and cold was put most of the crap I had to take off to get the carb off back on. I misplaced one of the hoses, so I will start tomorrow off hunting for the hose, then if all goes well, I'll fire it up, adjust the carb and get it smoged, then a trip to the alignment shop. Then the body and interior begins.:cool:
  2. OK, I'm going to attempt to post the pics now Big ouch on rt door! Not toooo bad. Changed the grill already, and installed HID headlights. Lots of cleaning and work to be done here. At least all the seats need is a good cleaning. Hitachi rebuilt and going back on. Freeway Blaster Horns and HID ballasts mounted. Front half of console ready to go back in. Alarm, and power door locks mounted under console. Closeup of Stereo and Door Lock Switch. Daylight shining through fiberglass where AZ sun cooked plastic til it turned to dust.:( The other fiberglass repair on the back half of console. Fiberglass repair ready for a little bondo, and a lot of sanding. That's it for now, have to finish putting the Hitachi back together, and straighten out the wiring at the rear. Then it will be drivable to go get smogged, then plates so I can drive it while working on the rest.
  3. Wish I would have known when I was in Phoenix picking up my truck. Before I spend that much + shipping I need to see some pics.:)
  4. I'm so old, I'm lucky to pass anything:lol::lol::lol: As for the diesels, I used to have a link to a Ford Powerstoke truck, that was a race crews tow vehicle, and after their race car was eliminated, they decided to make a pass with the truck just for grins. I was at the Vegas track, and he was staged next to a Camaro, left the Chevy in the dust, ran a 9 something at around 135 mph! Wish I still had the link, was amazing. I'm not a big truck guy, unless I ever get rich enough to afford a real race car and enclosed trailer, then I would have a diesel 2 wheel drive dually to pull my toy. Unless I win the lotto, ain't going to happen, but I can always dream.:lol::lol::w00t:
  5. Hi neighbor, Next time I'm in Castle Rock to visit my friend, I'd like to check out your 510. I always wanted a Dime, but that is the only early 70s Datsun I never had.

  6. Bonvo, Thanks for the info.:)
  7. I just decided it was time to tell you guys what I've done so far and post a couple of pics of the truck before I do much more, so you know where it started. I bought the truck in Phoenix to get a rust free truck to start with. Unfortunetly It had a lot more dents than the pics showed, but what the hell, dents are a lot easier to fix than rust. So far I have installed HID head lights, but I need to move the battery back a little, as it interfears with the back of the HID bulbs as they are a little longer. This causes the bulbs to cock at an angle which messes up the focus and aim of the lights. Also I have changed the 79 grill over to a 76, which I like the looks of better. I have started on the interior, replacing the chevy door lock on the drivers door to a correct Datsun one. Next will be to clean the insides of the doors to ready them for insulation and sound deadener, and install my power lock actuators. While the weather was too cold to work either outside or in my unheated garage, I cleaned up the front half of the console, and installed all my electronics. I have my stereo, door lock switch, and relays, and alarm system all in one module. This should make it very easy to service if a problem comes up. I will post pics of this as soon as I get them taken. The one other thing I did befor taking pics was to paint the stock wheels satin black, as I couldn't tolerate the silver that someone thought was cool. Well I couldn't figure out how to import photos from my computer to this message, so they will have to wait. I guess I will list the parts I have collected so far to get my truck on it's way to being my daily driver. 1 Carb kit for stock hitachi (to get past smog check and get collector plate) 2 Better Dash pad and glove box. 3 New door seals 4 unscratched door windows for both sides 5 unbroken sun visors 6 Toyota dome light, fits the KC spot, and looks more modern 7 multi LED bulb for dome light 8 bright LED dash bulbs 9 water temp. sender 10 KA24DE and 5 speed (for after everything else is done and sorted out) 11 HID headlight conversion 12 New hood bumpers 13 new glass run channels 14 non sun cooked steering collum and ignition switch cover 15 power door lock actuators, relays, and rocker switch 16 K9 alarm system 17 JVC stereo with HD receiver 18 amp for subwoofer 19 leather shift boot for console 20 new rubber wiper boots 21 leather shift knob with original red, white, and blue Datsun emblem 22 valve stem caps with Datsun emblem 23 custom polished aluminum cross flow radiator 24 electric fan for radiator I'm sure there is more, but I can't remember right now. More later, when I figure out how to post pics.:)
  8. I'm still in need of drivers side seat rails for a KC, a rear license bracket, and a passenger side door for my 79 620. Thanks for any help, Jim:)
  9. What a shame, That looks to be a decient restorable car.:(:mad:
  10. The Datsun dealer in Albuquerque was selling them right after I bought my first 76. I wanted one so bad, but couldn't afford it as I had just bought the new truck. By the time I could afford one, they were out of production, so I bought a new 79 King Cab 4X4.:):)
  11. Thanks for the info, Jim:):)
  12. If what doesn't take it, I will also give $80 for just the pumpkin.:):)
  13. I'm looking for a 3.90 rear pumpkin for my 620. Thanks, Jim:)
  14. You list a 71 Bullet side, but they didn't start till 72? I assume you are talking abou the blue 620. I was in Frederick this summer, if I would have known about you then I would have looked you up.

    Later, Jim

  15. I need a Passenger Door and Drivers side Seat Rails for a 620 King Cab. Thanks for any help, Jim:)
  16. Beater, you need to check ebay more, there have been 2 sets go in the last 2 weeks; 5 for $35, and 4 for $20.:)
  17. He doesn't want to ship it, I already tried to buy it.:(
  18. Yea, Just haven't had time, trying to get as much work done as I can b4 it's too cold. I didn't read the thread, Just saw the pic.

  19. I hate bodywork too, but can't afford to pay a pro, oh well.:D:cool:

  20. I pulled the hitachi off the 79 and took it apart to clean and kit. What a pain in the ass carburetor. At least after it passes smog, I can toss it and put a weber on it, and be back to simple again.:lol::lol::cool:
  21. Hey, fellow CO guy, I'm supprised I've never seen your Dat. around when I've been in Gtown. Where did you find that window sticker? I love the old stuff. I'd like to meet you sometime to talk Datsuns.:)

  22. Love your avatar, is that You? I live in SE Aurora, are you anywhere close?

  23. Your KC looks AWSOME!

  24. I wouldn't call it a show truck, it's a Ratsun, yes, a Ratrod, yes, a unfinished project truck, yes, but a show truck, no way! It would need at least finish bodywork, and primer, to qualify as a show truck omho, and that of many others of my generation.:lol::lol::cool: "A vehicle is worth what you fold and put in your pocket when it leaves"
  25. I need a drivers side window regulator, Passenger side door, and seat rails for drivers side KC bucket. Thanks, for any help. :)
