  1. Two in a row leaking on the slave cylinder side of the crush washer. WTF.
  2. Dont sell it to a moron who will fuck it up. or a kid.
  3. No, Autozone, then I was having a leaking at the crush washer problem so I had to convert it to Banjo bolts. I should be back on the road today.
  4. Anyone ever had a brand new slave cylinder fail within a mile of their house?

I have a new lifetime autozone slave. Outta the box if I manipulated pedal just right I can/could get it to bleed down. When I have time I am rebuilding an original so I KNOW it is good.

  5. So my clutch master and slave cylinders both failed. I installed new ones, drove it a block and now one of them has failed again already........
  6. how much did you get it for? I got mine about 6 months ago for freakin $10, I still cant believe it.
  7. Wow, thats awesome. They really love the 70's-80's datsuns in the middle east. I am sure its in good hands.
  8. I got the Prothane ones and they cut pretty well, even on the crappy little harbor freight lathe, actually grabbing from the inside with that tiny chuck made it easier probably. If they are pretty hard then they will cut well. The durometer on the Prothane ones is 82A I believe.
  9. I made the 300zx bushings the right diameter on a Harbor Freight 7x10 lathe lol. They are ready to install in the rear end. I was not really happy with how the rear mount was to be modified to accept the R200. So what I did instead was make a brand new mount. Not knowing that the 200sx also uses the same style mount for its R200 and that mount has the right offset to fit an R200 in the 910 chassis. So I ended up accidentally making a billet 200SX R200 Differential mount. It uses a Hasport bushing and pin, very cheap, easy to get.
  10. I wasnt sure about that either lol. But you can have two totally different sized dampers and have the exact same dampening force from them The piston shaft size starts to make a bigger difference when you want to use it as a pivot point for turning the vehicle.
  11. You are not hearing me here. You are correct, you cannot mount them solidly at the top mounting point. I already said that. This is why all coil overs use either rubber or a spherical bearing on the top mount. But it doesnt matter where a shock goes, as long enough as it is beefy enough (piston shaft) to do its purpose, it can be used front or rear. Both front AND rear move in an arc, thats how suspension works, unless its crappy suspension. you cant mount either solidly in almost any circumstance
  12. Dude, of course the shocks cant be solidly mounted, duh. I think I even said that. That is not what I am saying, and yes you are overthinking this by a mile. it makes NO difference where a damper is put, front or rear, THE DAMPER only actuates in one direction and is set to spring rate. as long as the dampening is right for the spring, and it has a thick enough piston shaft, then you are good to go. I mean alot of people have already done the research on what parts to use in building the suspension in these cars, why are you reinventing the wheel?
  13. Suspenstion dampeners are only actuated in one direction. The rear and front function is not that different to cause anything to bend or break. If anything, the front has to deal with alot more force and movement considering that it is a Macpherson Strut where the shock is also the steering pivot point. Also, the front is not solidly mounted with a bearing, that bearing is in a rubber dampener with allows it to flex with the arc of the suspension travel. In other words, you are severely overthinking your suspension. I told you what you need to do already. Coilovers in front with SW20 MR2 insert and shortened body and 240sx spherical top hats, with your choice of spring rate. Camaro 82-02 rear with different lower bushing, stock top hat and your choice of spring rate. Done.
  14. We were all doing good. Then the south asian replica wheels showed up.
  15. I ordered some things........ Lots of parts, and Project Mu camper plates. 300zx bushings for the rear subframe. mine are toast!
  16. Those prices are astronomical actually. and as Datsunfreak said, anything you sit in or that flexes alot should be leather, not vinyl.
  17. For actual leather or suede, $675 is a good price........
  18. Nothing you really need to completely re-engineer. just copy all of our engineering thats already done!! haha. Use a rear camaro or mustang shock on the back, shorten front strut tubes and get better, shorter dampers.
  19. Are those from a 944 or 914? How much to reupholster? looks like a good deal.
  20. That is awesome. I wish I could work in your shop for 6 months.
