  2. ha ha hainz and his cavitation!, hainz is like the front cover dmd, always always on the lookout for front cover cavitiation! i think we need to title him cavitation specialist, aheemmm mods?
  3. i just noticed this guys feedback score is 0.0%!!! not too good for a first time auto seller!
  4. hey its not a big project man, trust me, it seems like oh my gosh i have to take the whole front of the engine off, well guess what? you have one of the easiest engines in the world to work on, theres not many if any hard places to reach into to get to something. we can find you a good cover for cheap. about you idling it for 10 minutes with out checking the oil, that wasnt too good, i hope you didnt hurt anything internally, btu if you did it woudl giv eyou a good excuse to do a rebuild or swap to an l20b. your inmemhis i see, so did the junkyard have any other datsun trucks? im not to far from you.
  5. on second thought why did yours bust? and did it harm the crank or timing chain? did the chain break? you need to figure that out first bro!
  6. someone will have one used, ta da!!
  7. well along with the 29.99 i offered up a 9,000 dollar truck, which he declined because he wants 18k cash wired to him, either he really doesnt want to sell it or its a scam
  8. so i have been trying to communicate with this guy to get a serious price out of him, i offered 25$ and 29.99 but he declined, im beginning to think this is a scam, look at his pictures they are real vague and turned sideways, im gonna flag him for removeal as i have sent him several messages and he hasnt replied. what a douchbag? anybody live in arizona i would almost pay you to go kick this guy in the nuts!
  9. i have painted quite a few aluminum motorcycle casehalves, and what not, never had a problem if you use some duplicolor or similar self etching primer.
  10. ha ha no not just a bolt in. bellhousing swap maybe? but then the tranny would be cock-eyed?
  11. see what did i tell ya!!! i learned something too! i can take out my cable inspect it clean it re lube and re assemble it! sweet man!
  12. wrong shoes? stuck adjuster? wheel cylinder pushed out too far? if fluid gets behind the cylinder it wont let it slide back in, its teh opposite as your shoes wear, the cylinder effectively gets wider so when you hit the pedal the pressure is there, otherwise you would have to pump them to get the cylinder out far enough to engage teh shoe
  13. space otu the rear or get the fronts machined?
  14. when and if you do get it out, do yourself a favor, invest in a tub of anti-seize!!! best shit since sliced bread, never fails!
  15. bristle discs work good, but normally i use the 2 inch scothbrite roloc pads on the end of an angled die grinder, make sure you get med to fine and not the coarse grit discs, they are about a buck a peice and one should be plenty to do your front cover. turn your reg down so you cant get out of control!
  16. this is a goo dquestion for datzenmike! i dotn knwo about some of the 510 trannys, but both the 4 speed and 5 speed trannys i have worked on the speedo cable has a threaded ring used to keep the cable into the side of the tranny, unscrew the ring and it should pull out, maybe the 68 is different? i would assume so judging by the description you have given? mike will chime in with good advice and pictures to back itup any second now!
  17. gasket remover is like 6 bucks a can, if it works good its worth it though!
  18. there is oen here in ky fully restored for like 2k$
  19. oh come one ide give atleast 2750!!!
  20. ha ha look at this!!! i was reading reviews on datsun z cars and here is what some dubass said 1978 Datsun Z-Series: good car. 08/04/10by: Member id angelog98 ( Feedback Score Of 34) See all reviews by angelog98• Overall Satisfaction: great car. good looking. car is very rare and hard to find parts for it, so buying the entire is more beneficial than just buying parts from different vendors, the car was very rare in its day and still is today with only about 20 cars in the us total and the same in Europe. 23. talked to this guy on ebay about a red 240, he is asking nearly 20k!!! he said 18 would make him happy. im not seeing it, its a plain old 240 with a new paint job, maybe some aftermarket seats, a junk deck, and a junk kicker sub, stock engine with round tops, plug wires havent been changed in eons, its nice dont get me wrong but do you think its really worth 18k??? im thinking more like 6500$??? maybe i am crazy you west guys tell me. maybe i should offer 5000$ if he takes his 13,000$ subwoofer out of it??? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130456865433
