so last night while i was dreaming i had a vision of a ka24de swap. i got to looking and these engines are readily available around my neck of the woods and i was looking on ebay at parts for these things. some of you have swapped these into your trucks and i was wondering how hard on a scale from 1 to 10 would it be to swap one of these engines, i have wiring experience, engine internals experience, welding/ fab experience, and im super eager to learn and perservere untill the project is done. also i was looking at the top mount turbo manifolds on ebay and i was wondering if anyone has tried one of these? also what about those 600$ turbo kits with the t3/t4 turbo? must be pretty shitty right? my truck is a 77 620. i know this question is vague but you guys get the idea.

dude i can totally run by the place and pick you one up, they have huge piles of alternators and pulleys and stuff

i replied, the engine internals are actually pretty clean, the cam shows signs of slight wear, and before i pulled it i had just changed the antifreeze and i had just thoroughly flushed the oil with atf and it came out very clean. i can clean it up, and do whatever you need to it for you for cheap. im out of work so this would be fun for me, i could do new freeze plugs, clena it up, paint it whatever. let me know

i fiund 4 of the whit eones and my wife came home with 3!, gave one to my son, kept the other 2, im in need of a blue one and a blu eon with the snowflake package! and now a yellow!!!

your thinking too hard, ive seen this before, never heard that it was a problem, install it and forget about it. if its gonna cause a problem you will knwo about it.

umm try your pulley off your old alternator, you might have to use a washer as a spacer. i went down to my local alt rebuilders and got a core for my saturn alt swap as well as a pulley, if you really really need me too i might be able to stop by down there and pick you up a few pulleys, just pay shipping.

well yes and no, if the chain didnt jump then no adjustment needed, if the chain jumped, then yes you need to fix it, hainz has a good video about all of this, maybe he will see this and chime in! as for the 6hrs thing, your learning so have patience!!! most guys on here can remove and entire engine tranny and have the bay stripped in about 2 hours but your just beginning and taking your time, way to go man!!!! its good to jump into it head first, keep it up and youll be a regular datzenmike. hey did you get my message?
