  1. Went to put gas in the car and the gas cap didn't want to come off. Why does my car like making me look bad? I did finally get it out.

use the needle nose pliers to make cute designs in the sammich. you guys are nutty :)

  3. Well if it's possible to just get the switch as my mechanic said then I'll do that but if I have to get the whole assembly so be it. I'll check out if they sell just the plug alone. I'll still need the switch for the door jamb. At least that's one part of the issue solved. Thanks for the info David!
  4. So my seatbelt warning stopped chiming and apparently my wiring is all wacky in there. Not imperative for me to get but if someone comes across a 210 and can pull stuff for me I'd appreciate it. Here's what my wiring expert said: Door chime ~ Seat belt switch is missing, however i bypassed the wiring so it comes on with the seat belt light as it should. It does not however, work with the key in and door open. 2 things to fix this... 1. The door jamb switch in the lower corner of the drivers door pillar is wrong. It should be a 3 wire switch, not a 1 wire. 2. The switch in the ignition lock is no good, and is not repairable. I dont know if you can source just the switch or if you'll have to replace the steering lock. Its a 2 wire switch on the side of the ignition tumbler where the key goes. Without those 2 parts, the key chime will not operate with the key in and door open. It does work for 5 seconds or so when you turn the key on for the seat belt reminder. I'm also thinking I should start collecting wiring harnesses for the car, main, engine, instrument, all of the above :) I should've thought of this before and pulled from the few cars i've come across but I didn't. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
  5. Here's a 1969 Plymouth Roadrunner my cousin has finally been restoring. Belonged to his dad and has been up on blocks for about 30 years.
  6. Thanks Lonestar! Just waiting on the felt run for the window track to come in from Thailand and that's the last piece I'm waiting on. Need to get the stupid knob to work and finish sanding the rearview. Now I'm thinking about getting the inner door seal off ebay. Your car looks great! I like how it's painted. How difficult is it to make repos? Often think I should do that with all those plastic pieces.
  7. Yup, I will make that happen. This resto has been several months in the making and I'm not half assing it at this point. Come too far. EDIT: Although I have not had the car painted on the inside because I'm afraid of people taking him apart and mangling him. My 1/4 window latch and dome light suffered when I had the upholstery done. Dome was easy enough to get but the latches not so much. Was lucky ggzilla had a set. So the paint will look crusty on the inside but I'm ok with that.
  8. I've thought about that. There's a company out here called Just Dashes and I think they can do it. When I called over there to see what they do and how much they were telling me about all the other stuff they're branching out into. It's an option and I may have to if I can't get that stupid new knob to work.
  9. Haha! I know! I've got a new one but having a little trouble making it work. Ordered the part number Nissan gave me. Looking at that knob is like looking at a booger in somebody's nose. Nice face but there's this small obstruction ruining the view.
  10. i already went broke fixing up my datsun. but he's better for it :)
  11. So that's what it is. I knew it was a 60s Ford. Was trying to figure out which model. I love big ole floater boats. That car is in my hood.
  12. Oh that. Yeah that would've been nice. Would that have worked on an automatic or just for a stick shift?
  13. That's cool. I actually found a couple of those and had them painted brown as well. Surprised you found something brown. Everything I find is blue or black. Yes! I had them painted as well when I had the dash pieces painted. I'm sooo happy you actually had a set. Those are very hard to find. I've only recently gotten my hands on an extra set (black). Pulled them off the same car I pulled the rims and wheel caps. Also took all the glass. Thank you both in helping Stanley come together!
  14. Thanks in part to you vex. That's the blue dash you sold me. Still can't believe how good of shape it was in. I'm glad you pulled that :)
  15. As promised here are pics after my restoration. After 24 years of ownership I'm finally able to give Stanley the love he deserves. This mostly involved replacing broken plastic parts in the interior and upholstery. Sorry there aren't any before photos but I started my resto before I was a ratsun member and it never occurred to me to take before shots. If you imagine sun faded paint, seats that are torn with hardly any cushion, dirty carpet, cracked dash, dirty rims with plastic hub caps you have an idea of the before. And now here's the after. New paint, new upholstery, carpet, headliner, visors, new/old dash & glove box, new back dash, new taillights, new door weatherstripping, the 1/4 panel emblems I made, rims cleaned and painted, the coveted wheel caps cleaned, painted and polished, new old stock radio wired for iPod usage, still working on getting the shift knob replaced and keep forgetting to finish sanding the rearview mirror but here you are. Enjoy!
  16. And another Z (280ZX) in my neighborhood
  17. Haha! Yeah. In my 24 years of owning the car only one rust spot had to be fixed. I'm still trying to figure out where that came from as he spent most of his life in the burning heat of San Bernardino hence the reason I've been replacing all the plastic pieces inside the car. My resto is nearly done. Will be taking all around shots in the next week or two.
  18. I've been having the same issues with posting images and no matter what I did it didn't work. I just used the full editor then previewed my post and then the images worked. I'm always logged in when I come back as well even though I logged out. Seems like it's different for everybody and everyone has to use a different trick to get the images to post.
