  1. Crap and I'm going to miss that too?!
  2. All kidding aside, personally I wouldn't want someone to sell something they love for some ring. I also think it's a waste of money but that's just me. My bf and I have already discussed there will be no lavish wedding. I'm all about the courthouse when we get married cause I think the money could be better spent elsewhere (a house) but then I guess I'm not your typical female. He did talk me into a beach wedding tho cause he thought it would be something nice for the parents. I don't think you should sell the Datsun Elliott. Try and get something on a payment plan if she's really dying to have a ring or take your time and save up. There's nothing wrong with marrying the girl and then maybe on your one year anniversary surprising her with a nice engagement ring. It's been done before. If she's not cool about that you might want to rethink who you're with. Material things should not be more important than the person committing to you.

  4. I'll be in Vegas that weekend so I'm going to miss both. Kinda bummed.
  5. You don't have to warm up your Datsun before you drive it  That is the foreplay, son.
  6. I scanned the owner manual and user manual for my '81 210. If you'd like to add those PDFs to that site you can download them from here: http://community.ratsun.net/topic/49640-1981-datsun-210-manual-pdfs/. The service manual also includes the wiring diagram.
  7. You know, there's service manuals for the 810 on datsun510.com for download. The exact years you're after. There's also some on ebay.
  8. You can also look on car-part.com and see if a search for a part you're after turns up. If the part you need exists it'll give you a list of yards that have it. You might get lucky and one will turn up in your neck of the woods or at least close enough where shipping won't kill you. I've used this site in the past.
  9. Old cop car show this morning on Hollywood Blvd. They do this every year apparently but stay no longer than 10 minutes. The only problem was they were playing the theme music from the TV show Emergency! instead of Adam-12.
  10. If you ever come across a 210 parts number book I'd take it. I'm sure those are hard to come by.
  11. Actually yes, they were trying to sell it for $5900. I think the ad has since expired on craigslist. They are NOT going to sell at that price. Not a 210.
  12. This should help you even more hobospyder....vintage ads This one has gone beyond suggestive. Make sure you read the text in the ad. I always thought going native meant something else
  13. I know what you mean. I don't really dig new cars. Look like big ole bubbles. I don't buy new cars anyway. Against my religion. But, because Stanley has a lot of sentimental value to me (last thing my dad bought me before he passed away) he is now just a show queen. A decoy was necessary....for my sanity and the safety of others. The chocolate has not touched the peanut butter
  14. Settle down over there. You only take pics with tourists and hope for a tip. Nothing nasty.
  15. This is why I bought another car. I love my Pathfinder but I do refer to him as the decoy. They can hit that all they want and I won't care much. I do see a lot of door dings from where some ass just threw their car door into it. If someone hit Stanley....all I'm sayin is they wouldn't find the body. No body, no crime. Datsuns do have big trunks for such a small car. When I do drive him someplace I park waaay in the back where other people are too lazy to walk from. Thanks! You guys are too kind  :D
  16. I keep hoping somebody will start making aftermarket dash pieces and they'll pop up on ebay. I'm starting to notice more body parts that are aftermarket which I've gotten. Headlight frames, weatherstripping, taillights, that sort of thing. But, yeah, I won't be paying an ass ton of money for it. I really need to get on learning to make a mould of parts so I can cast some. I've found about 3 really good 1/4 panel emblems as of late that I can make a mould of and run off some castings. I seriously need to get on that. I had some created with a 3D printer a while back which is on my car now but the emblems I found still have the 4 pins completely intact on the back so I'd love to run those off.
  17. Aside from the one that's in my car I've only seen two that weren't cracked. One was a couple years ago on a round eye 210 and the other just a few months ago on square eye. They are definitely the needle in the haystack.
  18. It's ok. Doesn't matter. Don't want one that's cracked anyway. The blue dash assembly I ended up with had no cracks. Car must've been garaged. I actually still have a NOS stereo cluster in brown I'm hanging on to. I was actually able to get my hands on a NOS glove box from Nissan a while back as well. No door though cause it's sold separate and the door was out of stock anyway but at least I got part of it. It's black but can be painted if I need it. Good dashes that aren't cracked are hard to come by. I've come across more stereo clusters and glove boxes that were in good shape more than anything. I've seen only two dashes that had no cracks at all.
