  1. I don't do any rally and have no background there but if you don't want springs to move around you can get tendersprings to keep the springs from floating.
  2. those look like Eibach ERS springs like used on Ground controls. they are 2.5" diameter and 6" in height. if they are 270 lbs. I would say they would be fine for use in the front. I would use those tender springs also. good for keeping the springs inline and from floating around. I myself had the 200 and 225 lbs for my car and ended up going to 250 lbs before settling and I still could use 300 lbs. I live in san francisco and roads are crap here but the rates i have work good and the ride is not bad. on the freeway it is smooth and stable even at high speeds. as for others saying to steer clear of sway bars I would not always agree with that, you have to see what you are doing with your car to get the right components. I personally don't like how people use high rates on a street car to compensate for roll. I rather use a sane rate for the street and use sway bars to minimalize the roll. rate and good shock match help for ride comfort as well as handling but sway bars help keep the wheels on the ground by keeping the chassis from making the wheels lift off. I saw your post on the ST bar and I personally would use that bar as it was not a lot of money spent and I bet you will notice a good feel from it
  3. if you could do a write up with pics that would be cool for lots of people. good to see you are happy with your work. always a good feeling to make something work and enjoy the benefits. thumbs up to you

    backfire

check your ignition wires and see if the distributor cap has a crack in it. also make sure the ignition wires are not loose or hanging off the ignition coil partly.
  5. Dave that is a great looking Z. I hope to make mine as clean as yours less the LS1. do you still have the original motor? I am glad you enjoy that car everytime you drive it. a great feeling. feel the same way about my cars.

  8. I just did my order for the bushings and will let you all know if they are the real deal with pics when I get them. I was only able to get the front and rear leaf bushings and was not able to get the chassis bushings. I am working on that. more to come. I am also heading to japan next month again and will look at a couple of places there as I see some places out there I have been able to get some items as well as lowering blocks with the correct u bolt length. I think they are pricey at about 100.00 a set.
  9. side note beautiful roadster Jason.
  10. That is a motor I wanted to put together. Rebello has done it many times from what I know and tells me the dohc head is way better to use than the sohc head but said both heads will allow good power to be made. I hear you have to use the ka piston and the head should bolt on pretty close or minor mods need to be done. reason people do this is some like to use the Z 24 block as it can bolt into a 510 chassis with no mods and does not sit at a tilt and can use a basic lseries dist. of course you need to figure if you are going to use sidedrafts or the fuel injection ]
  11. looks cool but can't tell from the pic of where it mounnts to reduce roll. I don't see where it mounts to the body and axle. do you have a price on what you would sell for as I am interested in one. Thanks

    Maui

I don't think there is anything to do in maui car wise. beautiful to do outdoor stuff but no real car stuff. several years ago I went to oahu to help a guy install a turbo kit on his integra and went to the drag strip out there. real nice but hot out there to drag race. go check out the shops as some are pretty nice. the honda, old school cars like toyotas and subarus and mitsubishis are big out there as well as trucks. even for a girl to go it would be cool as it is good to see how people live elsewhere. have fun out and there and eat good. food is good out there and fresh.
  13. I am trying to do an order now but just waiting to get a email or call back. I would not go urethane as it is noisy. makes the car sound like junk. I do have a local guy to me that has a set in delrin.I have to get a hold of him again to see if he still has it. will keep all posted
  14. I am about to get a set spring bushings for just the spring eyes I will let you know when I get them as I know a dealer that still can get them but they are not sure if they can fit the chassis mounting so I may try on my to confirm.

  16. thanks Mike for the info. that helps a lot and confirms what I have been reading and understanding.
  17. I myself am using addco bars front and rear on my wagon. I am using a cusco front strut brace. from your name sounds like you have a SR20 and if so you may have to contact shops like DGR fab or Mckinney or TSR for a front bar. as for the rear I think a addco should work fine but check swap meets/craigslist or ebay as I have seen some bars for sale. I really like the pairing of 1" front and 3/4" rear but you just have to figure how your driving style is. I would get sway bars before the strut brace. you can live without the strut brace.
  18. This is a very informative post. I had a question. so the roadsters rear diff is interchangeable to a wagon? also what are the gear ratios choices for roadster diffs and wagon diffs? I wanted to get more acceleration. I am using a zx trans currently with a stock rear end on my wagon and can get a center section from a roadster and I hear that can help with acceleration. Thanks Benzo
  19. Driving it today and as of late I noticed it started to knock some. backed off timing to what it was originally when the motor was built and the knocking is gone and it is smoother running and driving. I will trade a bit of HP for engine life. car felt good.
  20. if the center section can work in a wagon and is 3.90 gears i am interested. in san francisco and can pick up to avoid shipping. Benzo
  21. Congrats to you for gettin those shocks in the front. seems like you really like the setup.
