This... It looks awesome with the blood red and black (though like I said, I will reserve judgement on the gloss black until Canby). I would keep the color combo if/when you decide to repaint it. The car is turning out awesome.

I would say that it would probably be worth less now that it has been plated. Unfortunately, vintage things are worth more in their "patina" state than they are restored incorrectly.

If it were me: 1. Take a hi-rez photo of the tailgate. 2. Import it into PS. 3. Manipulate tailgaite photo until you have a suitable "DATSUN." 4. Manipulate the "DATSUN" until you have suitable "RATSUN." 5. Export to AI. 6. Use AI to vectorize. 7. Print out vector at whatever size you need. 8. Cut out letters. 9. ????? 10. Profit.

In Seattle, I know Garage Autohero knows their Dattos, but since its the start of drift season, he may be pretty busy. I would check them out though.

Yeah, Davies is correct... these look like reproductions as they only came in 4" circles (no shapes... though some newer trains have triangles I think?), and only white and a medium grey. Also, I believe the only handle matterial they use is nylon while these look cotton. Not that repro items are bad, but I figure it should be mentioned. Ive wanted these for awhile, and although I may pick up a real one in the future Im happy with my vinyl cut Jun edition tsurikawa.
