  1. Awesome. I should be able to check them tomorrow while at work. Is there going to be an easy way to tell if the ball joints are shot? Im assuming that it would just be like deteriorating bushing on any other part of the chassis.
  2. Would that be the way to tell the difference? Maybe I will peruse the FSM and see if it tells me.
  3. Is that the 14mm vs. 11mm threads?
  4. Well, looks like the consensus is ball joints. Whats the recommended fix?- what are the quality ball joint replacement options?
  5. Reading over his build thread, a bunch of work went into it. Unfortunately you dont always get everything you invest when you sell, but its quite a car... I wouldnt pay $7000, but its worth a good chunk I would say.
  6. The tires are pretty shitty to be honest. Im hoping I can get my other rims mounted soon so I can get some meat back on the wheels. Then I can get new tires for the Diamonds so I dont kill myself during the Winter.
  7. Yes I did. I guess were on a time crunch for paint so were using the support for painting, then once that happens, we can move the car back to the shop, take it apart and I can send that piece down to you. I thought it was ready to send down to you, but I guess David (actual owner of the car) had other plans because where he has it is riding him hard to get it out. Ill hit you up again when its ready... Ive got some other things Ill have you coat as well Im sure.
  8. Yeah, high speeds I have no issues at all. Its just the 32-37mph range it seems. Car shakes, and the steering column goes crazy so I have to speed up or slow down to correct it. Im thinking that since the sterring column vibrates so much, that it may be a front suspension issue.
  9. :frantics: Man, those look great with that color combo. I cant wait to get these back and mount them on Minty. And they are +12s for offset. You do awesome work Jon.
  10. Damn, I watched this one get slammed... sad to see it being sold http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/2989990720.html
  11. Thats a possibility I considered. If I remember correctly, I did have the shaking before I lowered the rear... but I also have a diff leak I believe. The diff may just be going out and it doesnt like that speed for some harmonic reasons.
  12. Im not sure why I wrote torsion... at least you knew what I mean. Good catch.
  13. Thanks for the tip on where to find the machine... I was going to ask that. I know some old hot rodders so it by hand, but I didnt know there was a machine that did it for you. I might have to look into that. Im not sure where any lowrider shops are up here, but I can sure look around. It at least gives me a place to start. I seem to be developing quite a chassis shake at about 35pmh. If I slow down or speed up to get off that speed, Im good. But right aroung 35mph the whole car shakes like crazy.
  14. Anths car is in the way haha hmmm I do really like the WWs. Im going to see if I can source out an acceptable pair for the SSRs I have. Thanks John... I can always count on you.
  15. Well the Aero and caps are only Winter rims, but Im having trouble refinishing the caps the way I want them. Masking the circular pattern has been a bit of a trick for me. And yes they are positive off-set. I have no worries these will fit, they have been installed on a 510 before. I have been thinking about just saying fuck it, and having these rebarreled even bigger, then run flares. I dont really use the backseat much. It would give me more dish while fixing the rash and bends. I dont know, will probably be a future item. I just want to put them on first haha. Ive also thought about getting rid of these and just running new tires with a smaller sidewall. It would get a bit lower and I wouldnt be rubbing anywhere. An 80 sidewall is a little ridiculous IMHO. Ive talked about trying to keep it as original as possible, but it seems my tastes are changing a bit. Ive been wanting to get a little more into it lately...I bought an external oil cooler for a decent price, so Im going to mount that and see how I like it. I havent figure out if Im going to run the hoses hidden through the apron, a short length boso look, or go fulll boso and route them longer. Theres a like a billion pieces in the kit I picked up to allow any route possible, so Im gathering up the pieces to see what I want to do.
  16. Just a few little issues with the car. It seems that I didnt fix the carb issue like I thought... Im back to pulling the choke out some to keep it going. Its really random though, because sometimes that kills the engine and sometimes it keeps it going. Other times I have a decently high idle it seems. I dont know whats wrong with it now. Ive also got some dieseling it seems, which goes from just a bit on shutdown to quite a bit. Lastly, I feel like I should be getting better efficiency while Im commuting to work. Im sure that all the issues are probably related, but the little troubleshooting with Ls have yielded me nothing. Im still better off than most, so I cant complain too much. Went to Jack-in-the-Box for lunch yesterday: Hopefully my rims get down soon as I really need new tires for the car. I had to stop abruptly the other day and I went for a 10ft slide... I checked the tread and Im retardedly low. With how wet this place is, having close to bald tires cant be safe. Since I get get my original tires in the sizes I will need, whats everyones thoughts on whitewalls for the SSRs? I dont think Ive ever seen a set of WWs on wheels that werent steelies/hubcaps. Thoughts?
  17. I guess moving is a priority; you need a place to take your new ho. You can only fuck in the b210 for so long...
