I can do that all in my tent... excluding putting lots of large parts in it, but I wont be bringing nor buying lots of parts so I will be fine. Everything should fit in my trunk. Ive changed clothes, kept three 80L packs dry, and slept 2 in the tenth comfortably. Plus it has a vestibule that keeps more gear out of the weather. It also weighs 2lbs and excluding the two poles, will fit in a Nalgene bottle. Im not buying a tent just for Canby when I have two perfectly good ones.

Since everyone wants to be an idiot Ill help a bit... How far are you trying to go? Obviously you can the crazy route and stretch way too much. Eventually you can get too weird and it will be unsafe, but from the few sites Ive been on where its trendy there are few reports of severe issues with the stretch. I havent ever seen a post/thread where the cause of a blowout or crash has been due to stretch. The only real pro for your instance would be to fit a wider rim with a lower stance. You can also do it if you cant get a tire in the size you want/need... As long as youre not a complete idiot about it, there are no real "cons."

Talk to Dave at Futo Fab... they make theirs inhouse. I bet if you supplied the material he would make you one. Hes a good guy.

I only backpack so I only own "backpacking" tents... nothing larger. Why would I even need a larger tent?- you dont do anything in a tent, but sleep. The tent weighs under 2lbs complete and in UL mode just over a pound. No... Id just rather not sleep in the rain. I have plenty of jackets to hang out in the rain during the day. You cant check out sweet Datsuns inside a tent.

Yeah, I have installed a 720ST hub on a 510 before so if the 520/21 fits the 720 then its golden on the 510. Now to watch for those sweet classic 520 wheels to swap into my 510. Thanks Wayno.
