  1. Im not the be-all for mesh wheels (not my style) so I may have incorrectly quoted a price. But it seems like 16in meshes would be nice for people that would want them...
  2. If they are all like that, maybe something like $300-$400... not anything uber rare or desired. Its nice that they are 16s, but they may be smaller barrels with step-up lips so larger brakes may be an issue. Caps may be easier to find, but I dont think actual barrels are available. Im sure if you went to a refinisher, they can source something for you.
  3. Ugh How did I forget Southern Ways... Thats what they are. I have failed in my wheel knowledge :(
  4. Lol you should glass in a real cowl
  5. I was pretty sure that was some mythbusted old wives tales... none of the evidence has pointed to it working, but you are right... there are a lot of people that do it still.
  6. Those could be Autostrada Pirellis or maybe Riken BBSs. There are no addition cast stamps on the inside of the wheels... nothing near the hub?
  7. Those are my favorite aftermarket seats... I invision that one day I will own an 80s sports car (R30 Skyline, SSS 910, etc.) and a set of those seats with the orange gradient centers will be in them. Great choice!
  8. Looks nice! Also seems like your hood could use some adjustment... its popped up in the rear a bit.
  9. Oh well you just said Bluebird. All 510s over there are Bluebirds... Anyway, I have Deluxe flag mirrors and not the SSS bullet mirrors. I prefer the flags personally.
  10. Erich, back to our earlier conversation... I could use a little bit of that in my life. I need a sweet thing that will turn a wrench.
  11. What mirrors? I already have Bluebird ones installed...
  12. Like mentioned, its a 520. You dont have to take our word for it, just look at the metal plate under the center hood prop. It will give you the model name.
  13. Yeah Im really excited to go from super tired L16 to a good running L20. I think its going to be the best money spent on this car... When I install the L20 I will be swapping transmissions at the same time, but to the later auto. I want to keep the column shift, but need the later trans to work with the L20. I do wish I could have the lower RPMs from a 5spd for highway driving, but I do mostly city driving so theres no real need. Plus I like the old school cool factor of column shift. If I could get my hands on a Maxima 4spd auto, Id go that route. Unfortunately, I was clearing space on my computer so I deleted a bunch of pictures in my photo program not realizing that it would delete them in Flickr (I have them linked, but thought it was only for uploading purposes). Luckily after some work, I was able to recover them. I have since un-linked my Flickr and will be re-uploading all my build thread photos. As soon as that happens, Ill go through and fix all the dead photos. Itll be a lot of work and Im not looking forward to how tedious it will be. After the L20 install, I think Im just going to continue to daily this thing and look for another vehicle. I need something to drive when Minty breaks or when I want to do longer projects. Ive been talking to another member about picking up my second Datsun so hopefully that can work itself out. Im not as liquid with funds at the moment since Ive been working to get these t-shirts up and running. Hopefully they can be a good source of income to set myself up for another vehicle soon. *fingers crossed* I know that was a lot of reading, so heres a picture of me coming home from the broken u-joint (I forgot to post it above):
  14. My mom had one when I was in middle school. Was a beast of a car. Picked it up for $1000 with a a moderate oil leak. It was tan. Leak was the only problem... wish I was older at the time to fix it instead she just dumped it after a short period. She was uber poor so there was no way for her to fix it. I remember it wouldnt pass smog in Cali, but we paid a friend of a friend (named Nacho haha) to pass it for us.
  15. That car is driven by a hippie. He uses that exhaust to collect rainwater to help go green...
  16. I was thinking the same thing... then thought it could be old retired Navy guys in Japan, but that looks like a Crown Vic in the back. Must me an Aussie car.
  17. Im scared to take the head off my L16 to see what the valves look like. Im sure they are just as bad as that... cant wait to get my other block swapped in.
  18. A little late on pictures and such, but a small update: Drove down to Eagle Adams place to snag an L20. I want to thank him for being so patient with me since I bailed on him a couple times with a shitty life schedule on my part. Anyway, first time driving a 620: Driving the 620 with an L20 in it, made me really excited for my own L20 swap. Here it is on the way home: At one time I had a u-joint cap come loose as I had a worn flange so it wasnt as tight as it should have been. Damage: Since it broke at a decent speed, the half-shaft slammed into my exhaust pretty hard and now theres a huge dent as well as a small crack. I havent driven it since I fixed it so we shall see how it performs/sounds with that. For those that dont know, here is why I had a bouncy steering column. Above is the piece for a floor shift vehicle. Below is the column shift version. If you look you can see the cutout for the shaft linkage. With that cutout, now I can actually bolt my steering column to the dash and drive properly.
