Dirtyowlnumber4
Old clutch master is shooting pressure out into the reservoir, not down the clutch line. I took it apart and the seals looked OK but I don't really know what I'm looking at. Would it be best to put new seals in it or look for a new one? I think a 510 master would work. It is on a 67 411 wagon. Unhelpful video included. IMG_0.MOV Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
To be clear it does this on the in stroke? You might get bubbles on the out stroke. Quote Link to comment
Dirtyowlnumber4
Yep its on the in stroke, nothing much happening on the out stroke. It shoots out the line if I don't cover it up but as soon as I lightly cover it with my thumb its all going into the reservoir. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
411 wagon?????? so this would be SAE threads? 510 uses metric brake lines maybe a 521 master(SAE( would work. might have to cut the threaded rod by the pedal to get the length correct Edited March 12, 2024 by banzai510(hainz) Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
I don't know if or when the 521 changed metric but the earlier 520 clutch master was 5/8" and probably SAE. The fitting is still to the front though. Quote Link to comment
banzai510(hainz)
my 521 is SAE on body and brake lines just the L motor was metric Quote Link to comment
Stoffregen Motorsports
Sounds like a torn plunger seal. 1 Quote Link to comment
MikeRL411
New master cylinders are available! See my earlier postings. Stated as for early [1500] roadster but WRONG SIDE outlet which is perfect for export 410 and 411 sedans, I have in my RL411. These are NISSAN parts, not crap made elsewhere units and come in NISSAN part boxes. Part number does not track on dealer computers so order on line is only option. Quote Link to comment

Sorry, my post was for the master cylinder for the brakes! 1 Quote Link to comment
