My 78 datsun 620 project

Just a 20 year old finally working on my 78' datsun 620 handed down to me by my grandparents not experienced but am learning as I go was dunning a year and a half ago but camshaft snapped in half has since now been replaced but need to work on putting the new tank in and routing ew fuel lines 🙂

For the grill I recommend the pre '78 one. It's much better looking.

Cam snapped in half? Warped head.

Normally, with the rocker arms off you should easily turn the cam with your hand. The cam is very stiff so if too tight, it's going to try to flex as it turns and it's just a matter of time till it snaps again.

 

Have to ask, did you block the timing chain properly so the tensioner can't fall out before loosening and removing the cam sprocket??????

Nah this was before I knew about the tensioner and my grandpa replaced the new cam so the tensioner came out and now I have to take off the front cover to put it back on 😕

Update on my datsun just waiting on my grandpa to rethread a Whole on the head so decided to do some interior work and fix and prepare my dash for flocking. Started polishing the front end of the truck tonight and think it looks great let me know if the links for the photos work 😄

I like to see the picture and not have to click on it one at a time. Imagine showing friends at work pictures you took over the July 4th weekend and you hand them to them in envelopes they have to open one at a time to see. Later someone comes back and wants to see a certain picture and has to open every one till they find the one they want.

I've dug around and can't seem to find the exact amount of posts needed or even if it is required. This may stem from new members simply being unable to figure out how to post a picture at the start. A picture hosting site is needed or a minimum 4MB picture size. Pretty sure there have been new members posting a picture in their introduction. All new members have their first post(s) approved by moderator.
