about a month or some shit ago .

Orange car still hanging with Mr. cooper but still moving forward

BUT ,, although not everyone likes a big butt ,, here goes............. bro

Fat510 1200 had 3rd gear pop out problem so as posted before went to rebuilder ..  Apparently was a shifter arm got back put in to make actual mounting point on tranny reach to crossmember without moving crossmember ..  Had to bolt new rear housing to block that was made for original tranny swap to find correct height .. Welp the i didn't notice the mounting on tranny had probably been filed flat.. so in tightening down ,, there was a loud cracking sound ..

whoopies daisys

underneath ,, not so bad ,, maybe some JB weld can cure that mess

e2SlESd.jpg

Top ... not so much ,, and this was after bracket was removed ,,,  haha

ImGUBAv.jpg

after making new bracket ,,, i switched old bellhousing back onto tranny and now good to go

well it was real nice

5vP0XqR.jpg

W2X3cTP.jpg

with a couple of assembly tips from WildBill ,, it's back to looking like shit but as good as new kinda... Bracket is so chewed up because bolts had come loose along time before we got it..

KpLFP5e.jpg

Burt itt won't be bolted there anymore anyways.

was below freezing a few weeks ago when i did this.. i used this heat gun aimed under car and a couple 300watt halogen lights for warmth worked surprisingly well ,, haha

7fgOHjN.jpg

After bolting up as  originally done,,,,  cut this exactly right height so could take crossmember out and make bracket .

JFC83RZ.jpg

It was very cold so only saw about 15 seconds of welds ,, then hood would steam up,,, haha

Bracket has since been ground to a pulp ,, and rewelded and painted with ,, thick ass paint so pretty much looks like someone that knows what they were doing ,,, did it

We cut out for the speedo cable but never took oics of that,

PICS FOR BILL

weird dents were made from , Radiators are being stored on seat.

Have you done any thing to the orange 1200 ??  Nope .. but check this shit out ,, yo

Got "The Inspector" 1000 licensed so me and youngest drove the goofy thing around yesterday.  Only back shots,, because hauling twins ,, fronts are a bit rustier looking but cool.

First stop was  neighbors ,, checking out the damage pulling a Datsun 70+ miles,  on a rope,  does to your sway bar mounts

KsVxuq7.jpg

Then we went down to the bay

My little dudes are 5'11' 200+ so i'm thinking there may actually be same or more leg room as a 70s Camaro

Spent a day cutting up a 210 wagon for the 5speed and A14 to go in the Orangutan-sedan

And it only took a year

And yes,,  by WA state DOT fine print , that is a legal trailer with no fenders, because mudflaps are as wide as , and as high as, top of tire ,, look it up bitch

Since this is kinda a 1200 build thread thing ,, i will post a few of my son FAT510s 1200 ,, lol

We went to Westport WA on a cruise with a few others ( its about 90miles one way) and afterwards  we bolted to Grayland  to check if locate had sent a guy out to find power on my cranberry bog. And  stopped at my brother in laws place for some pics.

Westport  jetty type action

out in the cranberry bogs

\

tracks were removed on this bog so they could run bog buggy instead of happening to upkeep on rails. First year you could drive out there with a car without needing a 200 ft towline to get you out.

if it not for the scary trailer brake tongue , you could probably haul 2 F350 crew cabs if you could stand them up,  and chain together.

Orange 1200 is still in suspended animation at the moment.

SO

Repacked wheel bearings on 1000 and somehow lost the dust cap .. I looked for it for about 3 days figuring i dropped it in grass of it rolled behind mess by compressor.

But needed garage to make sure my 411 was ready to make a family road trip over weekend , so it had to be moved to it's normal residence .

Cap is an odd size

 Not one of these fit

A10-1200-510-411-b210-even a roadster one in there..  more than i describe because there's a pile of struts laying behind garage so guessing what the are.

tHa441l.jpg

so i cut up a tiny bit larger one so it would fit

wtVGsr1.jpg

ovlpnVs.jpg

It obviously wouldn't stay in there so i used Gorilla duct tape so i could drive around

lkOSDWH.jpg

kt0QiJs.jpg

I drove it into town and all over hell like that last week.

A few days later i found,, must have put there after cleaning to keep clean while i packed bearings

It was about a foot and a half from door

Much success

and since i post the neighbors 1000 in here ,, here's a couple more of that , it cruises pretty good now he is getting bugs worked out.

Switched FAT510s 14" wheels onto 411 for going higher speeds on trip ,, and 205/60/14 in back , fit pretty decent

Is this windshield still around and in one piece?

saved it for Logan of the 210s for doing me a huge solid when I needed help getting it. So it’s ready Freddy to go . And headed to a location very near you .

BUT . And I know we all like big butts .. I am pretty sure a sedan/wagon windshield won’t fit a hatchback

I suppose he needs it then 🙂

Will it not fit a 310 hatch?

i don’t know if he actually “needed it” he said he wanted it

and you can ask him but I’m pretty sure it don’t fit .

there’s a dude selling his late father’s windshield stash .

he wants to send list as PDF but my IT son said that’s not safe and to have him send screenshots,  and he did .

Most of windshields are oddball 50-60s cars

asked him about pricing but he hasn’t gotten back to me

I’ll send you the screenshots , he sent , and his ad when I’m on PC

So the other night Nate Givera-ah-ah ( not sure if exact spelling, haha) sent me a text about a 1200 sedan he was tired of parting.. At the price he sent, I thought he was joking and just venting.. so I kinda ignored .  Couple days later he posted on Facebook for twice as much , so I told him I would be up that day.. it has tach , and pretty decent interior . Huge front sway bar and a Datsun performance rear sway bar ( he had documentation to prove) I think it might have NISMO head but didn’t take valve cover off ..

other than that it’s a total pile of shit

This is from yesterday up in Renton hills . I’ll post a couple more later

He gave it up to me and FAT510 so cheap because he kept wheels and a ton of cool manuals and some NOS parts

They're all 195s/60s, 205s were gone a long time ago.

I'm pretty sure they were 205s but there is way to many bats in the garage to go look.
