720inOlyWa
Well, shit. looks like I just bought another 720 King Cab. I haven‘t seen it yet, but we have agreed in principle. No doubt it is a keeper and I will close on it tomorrow morning. It is an ST truck with a sunroof. But the sunroof latch is broken. Can anyone give me an idea about 720 sunroof latches? How hard is that going to be to find? I have heard about 720 sunroofs, but I‘ve never actually seen one before. I have also been told that the 86 ST King Cabs with the sunroof were the totally loaded model, with power windows and a better wiper arrangement, console. Does anyone know about this? When it comes home, you can bet that I will post pictures. Thanks! 1 Quote Link to comment
Lockleaf
I have an 86 st KC 4x4 with sunroof. It does have the power options. It doesn't have anything special with it's center console. Perhaps 2wd have the full deal though. I have also never noticed anything special about the wipers, though it could just be that I havent noticed. It still uses the same wiper motor. This is all in comparison to my 85 4x4 KC ST. 2 Quote Link to comment

Keep posting on here someone is bound to contact ya with a spare. Or just look in salvage yards. 1 Quote Link to comment

Problem is, up here it rains a lot. so, in the mean time, I will have to clean out 1/2 of my garage to accommodate it until the latch shows up. Must have been a weak link if your is broken too. I never contemplated the power windows and locks, though. I hope that stuff all works and/or isn‘t too weird to sort out. I failed to mention that it comes with a Weber, which may or may not be sorted out. How do you walk away from a silver ST with a Weber on it for that price? 1 Quote Link to comment

Don't feel too bad, my sunroof shattered on the trailer while I was towing mine home. It's got a tarp on it temporarily. Mine has power windows and locks too, but SO MANY mice have called this 720 their home I'd be shocked if they all still worked! I paid 200 for this thing and the body is good, bed is rusted out though. 75k miles but it was not taken care of. Right now i am just trying to get it running, with the help of the guys on here. I want to use it as a hunting truck, but a RELIABLE hunting truck. I'm doing all the cooling system, fuel system, and basic maintenance now, waiting on parts. 2 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
All 720 have delay wiper but it is preset... like 5 seconds. Then two speeds. From '82 on the KC DX have the same thing but the delay is variable by a twist knob on the end of the wiper stalk. So if you have an ST model it has to be DL (delux) or maybe ST (Sport Truck) are also all DX (Delux) if it has the variable delay wipers. Under the dash beside the steering column on the right is a small box that looks identical to the 720 fuel pump relay. The pre set delay and the variable delay use two different boxes. 1 Quote Link to comment

Hi,my 720 KC 1980 (in the purchase title) doesnt have a delay wiper, only two speeds.. not even the 5 seconds one... im starting to believe that this is a 1978-1979 truck that was imported and inscribed in my country in 1980. Maybe it spend a couple of years in a shipping container...hahaha...! 2 Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
The 620 has 4 round headlights. The 720s have 4 rectangle shaped headlights. Among many other differences. Forgot to mention the delay wiper (variable or fixed) was introduced in the '82 model year. 3 Quote Link to comment
720inOlyWa
...82. I wondered when that happened. I have stumbled across a couple of different versions myself. The current owner said that it had been lowered in front. Since that always smacks ‘teenage previous owner’, I presume that means the front torsion bars have been cranked down. I have nothing against lowering a 2wd Nissan truck, I would just never, ever do it myself. So I haven‘t looked into it, but I would guess that it will be a fairly simple matter to raise it back to normal height again. That will be the first thing it gets... I have had a friend who has been nearly relentless in trying to get me to sell my 85 King Cab, now that it has been thoroughly rehabbed. Maybe I will build this one for her farm. Always wanted a sun roof myself though... 1 Quote Link to comment

datzenmike
Raising it will toe the front wheels out so you will need to adjust them. How was the rear lowered? If blocks, just remove them. If a spring was removed (the worst way to lower) you will need to address this. Quote Link to comment
datsunaholic
In looking at the sunroof latches on both my '83 720 and my '91 Pathfinder, they appear to be identical. May be different lengths which would be a problem but it's not apparent. If they do happen to be the same, that would widen the options for finding one, as the 1st-gen Pathfinder was made from '87-94. Quote Link to comment
datzenmike
This is the single latch? By part number 73880-M6601 used on the 720, it is also used on the 310, A10, S110, S12, Sentra/Pulsar NX, D-21 Hardbody/WD21 Pathfinder, Vanette, N10 sunroofs Quote Link to comment
