DatDoug
I went to put my 15" Frontier rims on my 73 620 and they would not fit around the shock mounts. I even used 3/8" spacers. The weird thing is that they fit on my old 76 620 with the spacers. So I measured the axles and the 76 is almost 1" wider. Now I am pissed  because I was lookin forward to putting them on my truck. They would be perfect! Anyone av a solution?? Quote Link to comment
slodat
I thought that wider axle was a '78-'79 thing. Maybe someone swapped it in your '76. Quote Link to comment

Biscayne
Move your shock mounts. Try playing with different u-bolt plates, or go with aftermarket mounts. Quote Link to comment

dat620
yea i found out the hard way about differant axle sizes, as i stated in a previous thread, i had an xtra axle so i disassembled it sent housing off to chrome plater, got it back and looked good, took friday off to put back together, with all new components from my trucks axle, lo and behold, the axles were 3/4 " to long, what the $#%^, took measurement of og axle to fresh chrome axle, 1.5 "s shorter...go figure.. Quote Link to comment
