If you go back on page two there's a picture you can zoom into of the motor and see there's a sensor on the motor between the oil tube and the filter. Is that where it goes ?

Yes. What you currently have is for the oil light on out dashes.

Oil pressure sender is 1/8" BPT. All you need is a lamp and a 12 volt source. Sender grounds below 8PSI.... light come on. Get a 720 4x4 sender and a 720 4x4 gauge set. This gives you battery voltage and oil pressure gauges.

Temp sender goes into thermostat housing.

Stock 720 4x4 has an oil pressure sending unit that operates both a gauge and the idiot light. The gauges are independent 2" gauges that can be put anywhere. I'm running that and the companion volt meter in my 510 and also in my 240sx (and my 720, but it came with them).

I like them because they also match the other gauges well and look stock.

These are the gauges.

The sender is the gold can right behind the filter.

Seen again here in the middle.

The battery I was using I had to jump before I started it. Would that have any effect?

No, it would only charge to slightly over 12v. Sounds like you are running an externally regulated alternator without the regulator. I'm guessing you wouldn't an external regulator on the craft.. but if you did you could get one dirt cheap. More stuff to mess with though.. more wires.
