I think you will find a residual will help for rear drums.  Im running same master and my only issue is that the back brakes take a few pumps before they engage. I read that the residual pressure needs to be higher on drums than the disc master keeps in the line but I could be totally wrong about that.  I was just going to deal with it until I swap to discs later...been that way for over 30,000 miles :-)

Drums require 10 pounds residual to overcome spring tension disc 2 pounds residual.  I would get an adjustable proportioning valve and an in line 10 pound residual. or rear discs and adjustable proportioning valve.

Just throw some mats in there till you get the bugs worked out. 

Lizzard skin is good shit! A buddy of mine used it on the inside of his doors on his wagon. WHAT A DIFFERENCE! Road noise is a lot less and you can hear the difference just closing the door.
