solgroms
New to datsuns and I just bought a datsun 521 for 200$, no rust. Spent the afternoon putting in a new battery and sparkplugs and such, got it to fire up for a few minuets! first time running since around 1989, it has just under 60k (it hasn't rolled over!). I need an airfilter cover or some people call them airboxes. hopefully she will be drivable soon! 1 Quote Link to comment

dat521gatherer
Welcome. You got a very good deal. How about a interior and engine bay pic? Quote Link to comment
dat521gatherer
When you get it legal keep the old plates for nostalgia. Quote Link to comment
DanielC
I believe in Oregon, you can keep using the old plates, I have an extra air cleaner lid. It needs painting, and is missing the trap door that draws heated air off the exhaust manifold. You will want that, when it gets cold in Redmond. Datsuns tend to be a little cold blooded. banzai510(hainz)
Dude Cool a cool color also goto olddatsuns, com and read everything in the tech section. I would straighten the bumber or remove it. buff it out. lower it 1st get it running. I would ck the gas tank. otherwise you plug the carb out. make sure the coil has the ballast resisitor. don't change nothing until you get it running. coils don't go bad. get a seeif starter turns and cranks ck the fluids ect..... Ratsun will guide you Quote Link to comment
