CicliDevotion
Street parked in Los Angeles and someone pops my driver side door lock...so they can get in my truck, pop the hood...and steal my battery. Who does that?!? Anyhow, the drivers side door lock is f*cked, the door has a nice little pucker/dent around the cylinder...and I have to put a cable lock with a pad lock around my hood everynight until I can afford a monthly parking space... So... What is the best source for OEM door lock cylinders? Do I take it to a body shop to have them installed? On the plus side, once the door panels are off, maybe I can finally deal with the felts/rubber and excessive window rattle? Any advice on fixing the locks appreciated... Even better if you can recommend a shop in LA to do it.... Quote Link to comment

LenRobertson
http://community.ratsun.net/topic/903-solex-door-locks-in-a-510/ Haven't done this yet myself, but plan to, even if my 510 is so ugly that I probably couldn't pay anyone to steal it. Len Quote Link to comment
JoeCool
WTF?! Who does that? Did you have a high dollar Optima? If so it may have been someone you know. Quote Link to comment
CicliDevotion
According to the lady at Auto Zone, it's SUPER common in my area... They get 4-5 customers a week coming in to buy new batteries because theirs got stolen. I guess the $15 core charge that local auto parts stores pay out for batteries is enough of an incentive for a thief hungry for a fix... Quote Link to comment
JoeCool
I work at Autozone. You get $15 for the core charge only AFTER buying a new battery. If you just bring in an old battery we give you $5.00. Quote Link to comment
