DATSLOCO'S X-MAS FUN RUN DEC 14th

If weather permits we will be doing our last fun run of the year. We will be ending 2013 with a BANG!!!!!!. The route I have planned is one of the funest roads I have ever been on. Great scenery all through out.

 

YES!!! its HELL of a ride. :thumbup: YES!!! it will beat you up, make your forearms shake and sore by the time your done. :frantics: You will have 25+% less tire tread and brake pads left when you are done!!!!!!!!! :hyper: The last time I went I've only encountered a few random cyclist, a small group of leather clad rice rocket racers and a lone cow...No nasty bunny bashing incidents but DAMN there are dozens of ground squirrels that I barely missed that have some DATSUN burns on their backside!!!!!!!!!!!!

 

We will be visiting the Lick Observatory at 7281 Mount Hamilton Rd,MT Hamilton CA. After our Journey to MT Hamilton we will come back down the mountain and take Del Puerto Canyon Rd to hwy 5 and head north on 5 to our ending destination at the Dell'osso Farm where we will re-group and drive thru a magical mile of lights, a spectacular display of holiday spirit. This drive thru light show attraction features 240 different lighted displays and an amazing 200ft long light tunnel. We got a car club discount (Thank you Jackie & Randy) $5 per car to drive through their spectacular x-mas lights. Bring your cameras and your camcorders because we will be taking some great footage. The farm has many other attractions for all ages. I'm very interested in your thoughts on this run please respond here or by text with your feedback. 8:45AM 1st meeting spot for the central valley peeps 14548 Pinevalley Dr Lathrop CA 9:30AM 2nd meeting spot also in the valley Shell Gas Station 25460 Schulte Rd, Tracy CA 10:15AM 3rd meeting spot for the bay area peeps Valero Gas Station 115 S Vasco Rd Livermore CA 11:30AM We should be arriving at our lunch/picnic area, junction bar&grill 47300 Mines Rd Livermore CA. You can bring your own lunch or purchase food there. After lunch we will head up the mountain to the Lick Observatory 7298 Mount Hamilton Road, Mount Hamilton CA. We will break here and take pics. Then we will head back down the mountain back to our junction lunch spot and head east on Del Puerto Canyon Rd towards I5 Patterson CA. We will Re-Group in Patterson and head towards our last stop at Dell'Osso Farm 26 Stewart Rd Lathrop CA

And much much more to do at the farm. I am doing this run on a saturday for those who have work or school on monday. This will give you sunday to relax and replenish from such a SPECTACULAR FUN RUN

Del Puerto Canyon Rd is an AMAZING ride and the rode up the the observatory is so much fun!  I have only done it on my motorcycle but will try and make it to this assuming I can get my brakes done by then.  I would say screw it and go anyway but my master is leaking a good amount and that probably wouldnt be the best way to test how weak it is

last time we did this we drove the maxima 

although it handles well the seats left me sliding side to side and it definitely is not anything like the 510 

pray for good weather on the 7th and the 14th as bad weather on the 7th will postpone the

Took a preview of the  road earlier along with yella521 and a few friends we went up through san jose and went down through Livermore but the way down was FUCKIN SICK!!!!!!! I cant wait

When I ran through hamelton in my cressida, San Jose to livermore... I melted my rear brake calipers going 6/10ths. 

 

I stopped half way to pour water on my tires because they where fading HOT on the downhill.

 

 

This run is going to be amazing. 

 

 

Some parts are narrow, there are no lane markers but plenty of room for tow cars to comfortably pass each other.  

Just watch the blind corners and use some sense and all should be good.
